Default Decided not to buy Cayenne - But thanks for all your help

Hi guys,

Unfortunately I have decided no to buy a Cayenne. Not because it not my dream car but because of the kilometres I do a year and depreciation. The problem is that I do 30-35000kms a year and if I were to spend 140K I would need to keep the car for a minimum 5 years. Unfortunately the resale value of a Luxury car with 160,000Kms (100K Miles) is not good.

One of the main reasons I looked at the Cayenne was that I need something that can tow my boat (2500Kgs) to and from the boat ramp and in to town for servicing, in total that would add up to no more that 150kms per year.

So what we have decided is to buy a cheap (5-8K) 4 x 4 to tow the boat and an everyday car.

My heart is broken as I really love the new cayenne, but alas my head and my back pocket generally wins.

So what are we looking at, we have a dog so9 need a hatch back or wagon.

Range Rover Evoque. Have not seen one yet but the pictures look incredible.
Second option is either a Audi A5 or a Volvo XC60.

Once again, thanks for all you advise and it is great to go on to a forum where the majority of the post as positive vs everyone bitching about how bad the car is.

Cheers

Why not buy an earlier model Cayenne? They can tow just as well.

Both the V6's (petrol or diesel) start at 115K.
