Are the "T" connectors used in the CS?

Always start with Sunset Imports in Oregon for your Porsche parts.

I had mine replaced at the dealer last June; a little over 78K miles. No signs of any leakage, but at six years old and using the CS to haul the 951 to the track I just didn't want to have them ever break at the worst possible time.

I recall hearing they were only part of the replacement kit for Turbos. But don't quote me on that...

Have all the parts sitting in a box in the garage ready to go, 40k on the car and going to be proactive. Plan on doing this myself as it will need to be done sooner or later.

seankrider,

I would certainly try it myself but my big issue is finding the time to do it with family and work obligations. I am not sure why they were not replaced the first time around but all I can say is that I do not recall the tee issue being mentioned three years ago. I had it back in about 20 months ago for what I called a coolant smell everytime the Cayenne was parked - nothing conclusive was found after alot of diagnostic troubleshooting.

Needless to say the cars are now serviced elsewhere.

All is well!!

We keep having the "Coolant smell issue" and can not get the dealer too correct the problem... They must be waiting until the warranty expires!

Was this replacement kit for the aluminum pipes? I've heard that Porsche may have gone back to a newer PVC replacement.

Is this a (VERY) perverse effect of the Class Action rumors ???

I haven't been able to confirm whether or not this is the case. This was really more of a question than a statement, I was hoping someone in the know would confirm or deny the use of a newer PVC replacement.

True irony would be a settlement offer from PCNA, whereby all affected owners' pipes are replaced with aluminum... but their engine blocks are replaced with PVC.

^^^ Thanks, anyone see the article in the recent Excellence issue regarding coolant pipe failure?
