Default Burmester . . . yay or nay?

What's the verdict on the Burmester upgrade? Spec-ing my Cayenne Turbo. Wondering if I should / need to upgrade my sound system from the Bose.

Spent a few minutes on a Pana that had a Burmester with a very good quality Cd of mine (none of the Cayenne's on the lot had it)....mind blowing. I will custom order one with it.

Go for it! I will be in the market for a loaded used Cayenne in a few years, I wouldn't mind a good stereo.

If you're going to mostly listen to Satellite Radio and MP3s don't bother.

Seems like most of you highly recommend the Burmester. However, I just wanna add that 99% of my music will be digital (via iPod). Will the Burmester still make that big a difference?

I know I should make the decision already and stop wasting you guys' time on this, but I'm confused as I thought it'd be a no brainer nay, but seeing so many yays, I'm lost. Finally, as much as I would like to go try it out, not available here to try, so I gotta go by your suggestions. Thanks again!

Larry (R.I.P) would recommend the Burmeister ...
I think he knew a little bit about the audio systems and the guys who designed them...

Probably a lot of audiophiles on here will have the same input. You will lose a great deal of the benefit if you primarily listen to compressed music as the source. If your ipod is uncompressed downloads and/or CD burned to hard drive, or you will use CD's, then you have a harder choice to make. If your sources are compressed, might be better off using the $ for something you will enjoy more.

For the record, we listen to uncompressed music and ordered Burmester.

IMO, comparing the Burmester to the Bose is like comparing the Bose to the Becker in my 993... On a Turbo, I wouldn't think twice about it.
