Coolant pipe replacement
I keep reading about the coolant pipes needing to be replaced at some point. When were yours replaced and in which model?
I have an '06 CT with 50,000 miles, has not been replaced yet.

They are mostly in 03-06 CS/CTT/CTTS and happen at any mileage. Your's could blow tomorrow or at 150K miles.
There are two things to know.
-When it happens you will probably be far away and need an expensive tow.
-The Torque converter seal often follows the coolant pipe failure. (gets coolant on it, it drys to sand paper finish and tears into the seal).
Changing the coolant pipes now is a $700 to $1,2000 ish bill ($700 ish for all the parts if you DIY).
If you wait to add the tow bill and the TC seal swap you could easily add $2k+ to that bill).

'04 CS with 72K miles. Still on my original plastic pipes.
I'm considering having them changed as a preventative measure, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

FWIW, my 04 CTT popped the coolant pipes at 72K miles at the top of Loveland Pass in Colorado. Had to leave the CTT in Keystone for the night. All the tow companies wanted $700-$1,000 to tow it from Keystone to Denver.
Unfortunately the "road side" assistance I have/had will only tow to the NEAREST "Repair facility", not the nearest "PORSCHE" repair facility.
A friend with an auto body shop sent one of his tow drivers to go get it for me for "only" $350.

I've actually already spoken to Scott about some potential mods for the 911. I'll contact him about the pipes too - thanks.

I dunno what to do then.. I have CPO warranty for another two years but barely drive the car now cause I'm in school...the chances of it blowing out in these next two years is likely pretty small

I talked to Scott today. He said that replacing them before they burst would run me around $1,300.

With the CPO you are covered -- as well as towing the car. But the car will not be drivable - it will leave you stranded.
I had a few issues with my CS that quite frankly made me unwilling to use it to transport my family on any extended trip. It took some patience but Porsche finally did what I asked -- and changing out pipes was one of them.

When we removed mine we looked at them for hours and never did figure out where the leak was coming from.
Meaning......the dealer won't be able to tell if they are actually bad or not even after removal. If you have the warranty I'd be tempted to pour 1/2 gallon of over the back side of your motor and show up at the dealer asking what it is.

Not really more to tell.
That is really the only symptom of the coolant pipes breaking.(and the light on the dash saying to check coolant level) You can't see them without taking the intake manifold off.
