Default Cayenne Battery Life

I travel a lot and have my C4S parked in a garage where i don't have the option to hook up a trickle charger. It means the battery lasts about 6 days. I have thought about buying a Cayenne but i have the same issue. What has been your experience been on how long one can leave it sit. My wife leaves her Merc outside for a month and it's still good to go...how about the Cayenne?

Thanks.

Sure the battery in the C4S is good? My C2 has sat for weeks without the trickle charger and fires right up.

My 06 CS can sit for weeks and is fine -- original battery

My 01 TT will not last as long - not sure why

Buy a Cayenne with the aux battery option and you will never have to worry...

I've left mine in my garage for 10 - 14 days with no problem. I suspect it does have a fairly significant static drain when not in use but 14 days hasn't been a problem for me in the past. I wouldn't go much longer hear as letting the battery discharge too far is bad on the battery.

My 2004 has original battery and I have never used a trickle charger on it. Different story on 911, always plug in the charger.

I travel a lot, too. I have left it at the airport for 2-3 weeks at a time with no issues on starting.

I think I jinxed myself. Today, running an errand w/ the Pepper I came back out and when I turned the key it started to crank and then stopped. I thought oh sh$%. Turned the key off and then turned it on again and it started. I'm going to get a new battery from the dealer (PCA has a 20% off parts ecoupon on the website now). The Pepper's build date is something like 8/05 so the battery is over 5 yrs old. I have no problem replacing a battery after 5 yrs.

BTW, it was very hot outside so I'm sure that contributed to the battery's issue.

'06 S still on original batteries. In '09 I had to let it sit in the garage for about six weeks. It started on the first try.

Do they know where the Cayenne battery is located? If you can get it done for free, then good on ya'.

I was dumb and did it myself

Yes, the guy was adamant about doing it and even showed me the extra tubes etc that filter out any of the gas from the cabin...............

The gentleman loved his job and looked at it as an opp to learn I assume.

Not sure the C4S battery is good, back into the shop next week, but the service manager says it would be pretty unusual...we'll see. I know the Cayenne battery is larger so it should last a couple of weeks, one would think.

Thanks everyone!
