Given the high price of component parts - I would normally expect them to be loved by enthusiasts, but the Cayenne fails the enthusiast community as either a traditional sports car or traditional off-roader. That is to say, the average guy who wants a two door sports car, or a Jeep/Land Rover for weekend fun isn't going to be drawn to Cayennes.

IMO, Cayennes will go the way of 4 door luxury cars - they will be driven until used up then tossed away in favor of a newer more opulent model.

I think the enthusiasts will love them for many of the same reasons the original owners did.

I bought mine as a daily driver, ski rig, tow rig for my race car, dog hauler. Much better than a standard ole SUV.

I think it all depends on when Porsche pulls the plug on them.

There will always be a niche for the only SUV porsche ever produced.

The Cayenne is THE greatest, most significant SUV Porsche ever built.

I wonder if it will ever be the 61-71 Bronco or Defender or Landcruiser of luxury? You know like the cruisers that are very hard to find and very fun to cruise on a Saturday or sunday.

i think metech is right - depends on how long the model continues to be built. if they are still making Cayennes in 20 years, then these will have more residual value than a lot of other orphan Porsches- so we will see how long the SUV lasts

in may parts of NA the SUV is very useful for the 4 seasons of the year
