GTS vs S
I am looking at 2008-2010 GTS's and S's. There appears to be a lot of GTS's compared to the S's in the used market. I am inclined to go with the GTS because of added features but am comcerned about the disprportionate number of GTS's in used market. Are there any problems with the GTS's that could have the owners getting out of them earlier than the S's. Any comments appreciated.

I doubt it, you see more GTS on the market probably because they sold a lot more of it. Ever since they came out with the GTS, I hardly ever see new S on the road or at the dealership.

Chances are that the bulk of the GTS's that you've seen listed for sale are the ones equipped with a manual transmission.
Dealers are having a very hard time selling stick-equipped GTS's and are heavily discounting them. http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchr...MENT&pgId=2102

It is all about the timing. When was GTS first sold? When was the peak of the buyer's interest on GTS? Posche recognized a gap in its offering between S and Turbo and created what's called GTS. All those went out the doors of the dealers on lease are on the dealers' lots as CPOs.

Another terrible thing to consider is how the GTS has depreciated more than the "S".
I asked my salesperson why this was happening and he explained to me that most Cayennes are driven by women who want to drive a Porsche SUV, however they find that the GTS is too sporty and rough for their liking. The "S" ends up staying in the household and/or is easier to re-sell afterwards, thus maintaining a higher re-sale value.
More reason why the GTS is a true man's SUV.

for years my daily driver was a toyota tundra. a cap on the back, i had my bikes and equipemnt inside. i could train in the morning bikes inside, head right to work . during winter or bad weather or between track days i would go long stretches without putting my feet on 3 pedals. my driving coach finally reminded me how important it was to be driving an h pattern as much as possible so i sold the tundra and bought the cayenne. the cayenne aint no tundra , and fyi, that tundra had a wicked engine and monster power. but i can get my bike inside, it hauls all 3 kids and socer gear. and i can work on shifting stuff, blipping, heel toe, rev matching without clutching, etc. on the car.
and its plenty powerful. for me, personally, its been a really good tool. i miss the size of the tundra sometimes.
and the manual models, they can not give away. this world is going coo coo.

I saw a few GTS's on the lot with factory installed tow hitches, and I added an OE tow hitch with ball to my GTS. They had to cut the rear plastic dangly bits, so not very integrated - but it is on the truck.
