Default '09 - PCM3 - Phone probs

Phone has been working fine thru PCM...suddenly can't dial from PCM screen and when i receive a call, i can't answer it thru either PCM screen, steering wheel buttons, or dashboard buttons....if i answer the call directly on my phone it will use the car speaker/microphone for the call.....same thing if i dial direct off my phone....phonebook is transferred fine to PCM

any thoughts other than bring to dealer??

It's more likely that it needs to be reset. Is your phone's bluetooth visibility on?

Yes and as I said, they can see each other - the phone's phonebook gets transferred, and i can talk/lsten using the car's speaker and mike - i just cant start, pickup, or end a call by using any of teh buttons on either the steering wheel, the dash, or the PCM screen.

Can i reset it or can only a dealer do that? Thx

This may sound weird since you did mention that the system was working well prior to this incident, however, have you checked with the documentation to verify if in fact your phone is on the list of compatible devices that can work with the PCM 3.0?

There is a free downloadable pdf document available on Porsche's website that lists all of the compatible phones.

Have you had the dealer perform the update to your PCM? There are a whole slew of issues which are all software related although I'm not sure what you are describing is covered.

Not yet. But here's the new wrinkle. Other Blackberry works fine. So something changed in the last week with this Blackberry 9530 so that it doesnt work. Feels like a Bberry issue as opposed to PCM. But damned if I know!

Figured it out - or at least how to fix it! Deleted PCM from phone, deleted phone from PCM...did hard reset of phone...re-paired PCM and phone....voila!

UPDATE: I spoke with my salesman at the Porsche dealer this week and he's assured me that PAG is fully aware of some of the glitches associated with the PCM 3.0 Bluetooth software as an update is being worked on as we speak.

If you're having issues with the Bluetooth device on your PCM 3.0 system, bring up the issue with your service dep't as they will upload a software fix that will take care of most of the issues that we're having. This of course once the software is made available to the dealer network.

I am personally experiencing mirror imaging of the first few contact names in my phone's contact list. Also, they're appearing with last name shown as the first name even though I've set up the phone to display the other way around.

FYI, We (Porsche of Boulder) has had the update disc for a month or so, most dealers should have them by now.

Thanks Chad. Why am I not surprised that the CDN dealer network is never kept in the loop as efficiently as their US cousins...

I'm not sure if it's still on the table, but there were talks of Posche Cars Canada.

Damn, that happened in 08? I guess it hasn't made a difference then.
