Default 2010 - Cayenne Discounts

Does anyone know if there are discounts on the 2010 Cayenne S, as the new 2011 model is on the way?

I shopped the 2010 market actively 2 weeks ago before deciding to go with a 2011. 10% off was the best I found and most dealers were in the 7-8% here on the east coast. Lots of black on blacks. One dealer had 6 or 7 black on black cars. Champoion in Pompano I think.

Bill-

Thank you very much for the insight. I am surprised that they are only offering a 10% reduction. Must not have a huge inventory?

I am looking to replace my 2001 Jetta and the Cayenne looks like the right choice for me. There are many 2006 Titanium's for sale. Looks like there are many in the $38k - $40k range. I assume that those prices will continue to fall as the 2011's are on the way.

I prefer the the looks of the 2008+, as well as some features such as power lift gate. But, from what I have seen, they command a $10k premium over a 2006 Titanium.

The Cayenne will mostly be driven in the winters as the 911 gets priority when the weather is good. Probably going to see 8k-10k miles per year. Figure that I will get the most bang for my buck by going with a model that is a few years old.

Just thinking that a 2010 model might be a better option over the long term, if they had significant discounts.

Look into when the "sport" button was added. Sport mode makes the throttle very crispy and shift points later. That in itself is worth $10K (to me) if the earlier cars do not have it.

alternatively you could stick it into manual, decide when to shift and spend the $10k on something far more interesting

I think you get the same result by screaming "Go You Pig" at it while accelerating.

Not the best advice probably for all the auto junkies out there, but for me, I find the car more peppy with the PCM (Edit: PSM ) turned off. I assume the shift points are different since the computer isnt trying to stabilize traction then.

I think you meant PSM (Please Save Me ... or Porsche Stability Management), not PCM (Porsche Communications System)....

Although turning off the radio might help things too....

PSM 'Off' always has. It was the 'quick fix' to the problem with the Aisin transmission ECU getting too accustomed to "grandmother" mode....it was also the fix to the alleged 'hesitation' problem, the one that never really existed.

It's a good thing PCNA kept that one under control, it wouldn't be a good time now to come out and announce ANY issue with a S/W controlled throttle

Yeah, I am running on fumes... I remember when the first had this on the 911, most of the reviews said turn it off if you want to have fun, keep it on if you don't want to spin tires, over or understear, or basically have it drive like a regular car.

I should add, if you have never driven your CS / Turbo with PSM off, do it NOW!
