Plastic or Aluminum coolant pipes, how to tell without intake removal:
* Remove drivers side and center engine covers.
* Place mirror as shown.
* Using fashlight, shine light onto mirror and inspect.
* Picture is of center upper pipe. If you rotate the mirror, you can I.D. the lower pipe along with the other 2 upper pipes.
* This car still has the plastic pipes installed.
Hope this helps!

I was looking at this just now and saw that I still have plastic tubes. But when I touch the tube, it feels like it's ABS plastic and not rubber hose. Are the 3 hoses rubber hose or hard plastic? I was able to touch hose #3 on the picture without taking the intake out.

I would stick my iPhone back there and shoot a video! Maybe use a light but it appears that is not necessary. Great idea though.
Were all repairs done with aluminum pipes?

I need to know because I have already bought the kit and have scheduled the install for next week. I bought this 2003 Cayenne S, and there is no record of them changing the coolant pipes......
Definitely looks different - aluminum where there would be plastic. There seems to be an aluminum cross member holding the pipes - not like my kit. Anyone seen this before??
