Default 05 CS - New engine + coolant pipes - still loss of coolant??

Hi,
I recently noticed that the coolent level is much below min, there is no leak that i can see when parked .. the engine along with the coolant pipes were replaced less than 3 mths back at 44k miles and the coolant/antifreeze was filled ... currently it has 45k miles on it ... any clue please on what could be wrong if the coolant pipes were replaced?

Maybe the system was not bled correctly. I woul hate to think that they screwed up the coolant tubes replacement.

If the coolant tubes are failing, or the install was done incorrectly, you should be able to smell coolant.

Have you checked the dipstick? Does the oil look normal? If it looks milky and overly-full, then the coolant has entered the oil. This is unlikely, but not impossible.

On 99% of cayenne services the coolant level is very low. This is normal and does not mean there's a leak. If nothing is dripping on the ground and there's no coolant in the oil then I wouldn't worry about it.

I've owned my 2004 CTT for almost 2 months now and have had to add 1/2 gallon of antifreeze twice already. My coolant pipes are aluminum and I have no coolant leaks.

lol. ?!??!?!?!?!?

I agree - that is not a typical condition, nor one to be ignored. Closed system or otherwise, consuming coolant is not like consuming oil. Don't forget that the turbos also have the infamous (dreaded) rubber tee connector deep in the bowels that goes bad, literally leaking coolant from the rubber pipes attached to the plastic tee. Quick forum search should find a few good threads on this.

Check if that was replaced, and pray that it was... or you'll get to see your aluminum pipes again.
