Default Right price for an 05 Cayenne

Anyone have any thoughts on what the right price is for 05 cayenne turbo with 40K on the clock. Also what problem areas to look at before I buy it.

Since it's on 05 check the VIN against the TSB for the oil scavenger rings installed ***-backwards.

There is no "right price" for an '05 with 40k miles.

Unless it's free. Then I MIGHT give it SOME consideration.

On a 39 month lease, you will pay over $30k for the right to drive the truck. $30k-ish should get you a CPO '05 CS with 30-40k miles.

I'd buy the CPO car, drive it until the warranty ends, sell it for $18-$20k. This amounts to a $10k spend over the ownership life vs. $30k.

I have had my 05 CTT since new, no major issues or problems in 34K miles. I am on my 3rd set of tires, and bought an extended 100K warranty ($100 deductible per visit). I just wish it had a PDK transmission.

Some of the myths here are just that!

If you can find a well maintained car with a good history it will serve you well.. and not break the bank. Just don't buy one to tow with !!!

RL member 'T2' has IIRC ~ 125K miles on his 04 Cayenne Turbo....and FWIW ~ 225K miles on his 996TT X50.

As for towing, go ahead.

Curious as to why you would take the 09?

the 08 and above cars are way better than the old ones..

power liftgate, touchscreen nav, direct fuel injection, more HP

under warranty, less problem.. etc etc..

even if he's paying cash, i'd rather prepay the lease on the new one...

well that;s just me

Makes sense. I'm a buy/hold person so I take into account TCO in all m cars. So far, my 2000 Ford Explorer has beat everything I've owned in TCO..... Especially my wife's former Audi S4 2.7TT.

I have had good luck with my '05 CS other than the coils and coolant tubes. Both are covered under CPO warranty (which would be a condition of purchase).
