Default Thinking about 09 Cayenne Turbo

How does this compare to the previous one without direct injection? I had 05 Cayenne S that I had a lot of issues with. Are current ones much more reliable than 05/06 models?

Odd, it is the general consensus that MY05/06 Pigs are very reliable when compared to the alpha/beta MY's....of course that might not be a stellar product endorsement.

Exactly what issues were you referring to you?

I had a 04 CS for 4 years, then upgraded to current 08 CTT.

Performance in the CTT is much better in everyway. Straight line acceleration the CTT is almost as good as a 997.

Can't say much about reliability yet as it is just 18 months old. The only thing I dislike is the noisy brakes at low speed driving and stopping. Porsche service checked it and said the noise is normal, but the front brake pad seems to be wearing down very fast. They have changed the front pad of another CTT at just 9000 miles.

My '06 kicks ***. Not a single issue. All joy.

In the SUV segment I would buy another and no other.

They took us around the Barber race track in one of these on the last day of the PDS. Very fast vehicle. With 4 of us in the vehicle, it went around the track pretty quick.

I have an 08 CTT with 30,000 miles on it. Just replaced brake pads on front. Other than that no issues except normal maintenance at 12 and 24 K. Fast, tows decent and fun daily driver.

The latest Cayenne's have proven to be very reliable and the 08/09 direct injection engines are much more responsive.

Are you claiming there was a lack of response, i.e. 'hesitation' or 'lag' in earlier Cayennes?

Heretic...
