There WILL come a day, when no one is looking, the entire Cayenne forum and every single post/link/archive, WILL BE DELETED......in loving memory of Larry.
please do...so we can go back to having a real & normal life...
I love the 968, but the 924 was the 924- a car with a porsche badge, and you can't do anything about that. To compare one car to another just because it's the same company (even an evolutionary cousin) doesn't make sense to me. It's like comparing a CTS-V with a cimarron. Another example closer to home- I loved my cayenne, but some of the earlier ones caused quite a bit of trouble and cost to the owners...I believe you have pointed out many of its flaws over the years...while providing us plenty of comedy along the way
Hmmn....
Barn find 924 vs a brand new Cayenne.......yup, I know which one I'd go for.
The brands likely going away are: Pontiac, Hummer, Saturn, and Saab. GMC, Chevy, Buick and Cadillac are the likely survivors.
Best thing that could happend to Saab is to get rid of GM. Ever since GM took over it Saab products have been going down hill. Most likely Saab will survy as a independent european brand.
Your new Buick look, hmm intresting. Somehow i think it could be a hit seller in Russia, it would be extremly hard to sell a car like that in other european countries.
We drove the Enclave and thought it was OK. I would have recommended just going with a minivan. The Sienna is great as I really never have to drive it. The seating options for the Sienna were the best for our situation: 19, 11, 18mos and 6 mos(2). We are able to put three car seats across comfortably and even move the middle seat in the second row forward so the kids can't fight with each other.
Actually did consider Q7 but the reliability has been horrid. I won't go into that type of situation.
after having two audi's (audii?), i was forced to go the lemon route on the second one of them. kinda reminds me of another german car i had..i forget which one. my FX45 just rolled over 80k, and while i am about to do the brakes, it has had no problems whatsoever. there are many missions that the cayenne is just no good for (most involve motion), and once the girls saw my timex, i never picked any up in it anyway.
a very good choice, and i believe you will find the OnStar system worth it's weight in gold if you ever need it (not for wrecks, heaven forbid, but it works a treat for flats too).
good on, and be careful in the german deathtraps you still have, your family will need you for a long time yet...
