I think your mileage will vary considerably based on your driving style.

My CS gets acceptable mileage around town if I am easy on the throttle... but I imagine that isn't easy to do in a CTTS. Too much temptation to push it...

Yes you are very very right Dennis i get acorrdin to the display drivin around town avg 22mpg. but if i put my foot in it from a dead stop to 60 i loose a 1/4 tank GOOOOOOOONE like that!! haha. so i was lookin for something to kinda increase the mileage so i can have more fun with the gas pedal. Not that im complain of the mileage it get cause for what it is that is great just wonderin if anyone tried that route??

22 mpg is actually quite shocking around town.

I don't think I've ever gotten 22 even on the highway.

If I drive only in town, I get 14 - 15 mpg.

Have you actually done the math at the gas pump as opposed to using the display in the car? I think that if you did, you'd find that you are getting much less than 22 mpg around town.

well i get gas tickets when i pump and log my mileage and i did the math from my log book just now for a couple of times(from readin ur latest post ) and it varies for 18.7mpg-22.8mpg( per fill up). but im out in the country and have no street lits or traffic. Its a straight shot everywhere i go and i also found out it only likes shell gas cause i was usin others and it was like low 18 high 17 mpg then. Dennis do u use 93octaine?

Costas,

You must be a very careful driver - the EPA estimates for the 2005 CTTS are 13 city and 18 highway.

Yeah just call me granny. I got too many tickets to be silly in it , and in my defense it you dont have to be slow to get good mileage just acc/dec very slow you can maintain a fast speed ok then

I agree with you that this will help with your mileage, I'm just still quite surprised to see the mileage that you are getting. I've gotten 21 before when virtually all the miles from a tank of gas were on the highway, but that's the best I've ever been able to achieve.

Ditto. I got slightly above 20 MPG (actual miles/gallons) on interstate trip where I filled up at an interstate exit gas station and then drove 400 miles non-stop and filled up on the interstate exit gas station again. Now that was going an average of 75MPH.. so I guess if one slowed to 55 it might be better... but, if the politicians put us back at 55 that's going to be the only way I'll know what my mileage will be like.. and with no kids at home (got rid of mine when we started having kids so that I didn't set the example that rules are for everyone except Daddy).. I'll be buying a radar detector again?!

The Cayenne turbo S, abbrev. ctts, was first released as an '06 model.

Just sayin'...

As a point of reference, my wife drove her 05 S for three years and was always in the mid 14 mpg range. She drives pretty conservatively, to put it mildly. Now she has an 08 GTS and she is getting low 13's. I am pretty disappointed to be honest, as I was hoping the new direct injection efficiency might balance out the thirst of the higher hp n/a motor.

I guesst that explains why I could only find EPA numbers for 2006 and later. I assumed that a 2005 would be the same... but I guess it doesn't exist! Maybe a 2006 model that was manufactured in 2005 is what Costas means...
