We have seen those "exclusive spy photos" on several occasions before. I think the last time we saw them they were supposed to be the new "baby Cayenne" that would compete with the X3 and the new Q5.
I don't believe that autocar.co.uk has any sources of information. They have simply repackaged stuff that has been out there for a while.
As for a diesel Cayenne - it would surprise me if they launched one, but Porsche has surprised me before.
Saquibc - you posted this, so would you buy a diesel Cayenne if you could?

I do think a Cayenne Diesel would be a big seller in Europe though.

Dr. W hasn't left himself much 'wiggle room' here; after stating publically on MANY occasions that he would never allow a diesel Porsche.
Well, a few hybrid uncontained thermal events, gas prices going up, countries requiring higher gas mileage....it's either go diesel or pay the penalties fines.
Hmmn, Dr. W.....lose face or lose money.......God, how I love this

You might replace "big seller" with "required".

I was surprised to learn that some larger cities in Germany, Have a 2 sq mi ( for example) area that no diesels are allowed , In the downtown area's. Because of pollution. A guy visiting from Germany , told me this , last night. Interesting tidbit.

My wife inherited my Turbo Cayenne. She would be perfectly satisfied with a diesel Cayenne especially if it meant less frequent trips to the station. I think we will see both hybrid and diesel Cayennes on this side of the pond.

I have a Mercedes ML 320 CDI (wife's car) and it is by far more powerfull then the V6 and more torqey then the V8 Cayenne. A modern diesel engine is the way to go in any SUV. I get 22 MPG City and close to 30 MPG on the highway. Certainly beats the 10 MPG with the Cayenne turbo.
