Default The Curse of Larry's Cayenne

Some things just don't stay dead.

Ordered 2 DME relays (for the wife's 993 Targa and the 968 Cab) from Jeff at Sunset Imports.
Received 2 items:
1 DME relay: 993 615 227 00
1 Cayenne remote control key fob: 000 043 206 42
(yes, the sasme key fob that only worked when it wasn't raining and you were standing on the roof of the Cayenne)

Fortunately, the squirrels have completed their R&R after recently completing their SEAL/UDT training (they were already Airborn Ranger trained), so if I were you, I'd tuck your pant legs inside your socks......those responsible for this WILL be held accountable.

I don't know. Sunset is pretty good. If I were a betting man I would say that you subconsiously ordered that fob and it's no mistake. Now all you need is a nice Cayenne to go with it, or to at least admit that you really DO miss that thing.

I was surprised, it was the first mistake Sunset ever made with an order.

No, I didn't consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously order a Cayenne key fob.
Here is the text of the email from Jeff at Sunset:

22.59 each, in stock, both are 993-615-227-00 as you guessed.
I will get those out today for you, thank you. Jeff.

As for a Cayenne, I never owned one, remember?
However, I am open to the idea of buying one, flipping it on its side (extra credit for having Peter the Great and Dr. W inside, firmly held in place by 2 dozen A506 Cowboy belt buckles), setting it ablaze (ala the Cayenne Hybrid 'event') and kicking back in a lounge chair and enjoying the Cayenne experience. To end the night, I can throw the keyfob into the burning carcass and wait for the internal battery to explode....my own little fireworks show.

I wonder if you should sell me your fob - would it solve the problem of my having to be inside the car ALREADY before I can unlock it with the remote?

I'm sure you've seen it happen, but I got to tour the Crane NWC in Indiana a couple of years ago. The tour included the 16-inch shell storage facilities AND the lithium battery testing facility. Unbelievable what a lithium battery does when it goes off!
