Default How cold is "too cold" to wash your car by hand?

It's up to a toasty 43 degrees here in northern Indiana today... the sun is shining... I would love to wash my car by hand instead of just going through the touchless carwash to spray off the salty crust.

Is 43 degrees too cold to wash the car by hand? I think not...

Any opinions?

Zaino AIO doesn't seem to work/bond well when it's cold (or cool outside), so I don't bother.

I've never tried Zaino. How do you like it?

It got all the way up to 48, so I decided to go ahead and wash it... yes... hand wash the Cayenne.

Love it or hate it, I think we can all agree it's better clean.

IMHO, it's just a waste of water and soap.

Fine, if you insist, try using Optimum No Rinse....works very well:

Looks like interesting stuff. I may give it a try the next time I wash the Cayenne.

How about this... I washed it to get a little exercise and enjoy the nice sunny day... better?

FWIW, I use a CRSpotless. I also have hot/cold water outside the garage and the garage is heated as well.
In retrospect, I should have busted up the concrete floor, put in a dry well and been able to wash inside during the winter, but drywells are not longer permitted.

The last garage that I built I just made sure that the floor sloped to the exterior, put extra lighting in and made it generous (1000sf, 3 stalls) and I washed cars and boats in there all of the time. I am not understanding why you would break up the floor and put a dry well in. You just need slope, adequate light and a drain???

What is a dry well? I have a sloped floor and drains in my garage, but I'm not familiar with a dry well. I have hot and cold running water in my garage, and I think I could wash a car in there easily. With the Optimum No Rinse product mentioned above, it seems like it would be ideal.

I have washed my truck when the temp is 30 degrees. It does ice up the street outside the car wash though!

45F is about my limit. Zaino/Mez all good stuff. Takes longer to dry below 60 though. I use high-powered leaf blower for drying, better to have less "touch" the finish. I use a mix of hot/cold water with waterproof gloves so cold is not an issue.
