Once you're addicted to the TT power and acceleration.. I'm sure you can't be happy in something less powerful.. discussed by many that we're glad we never drove one.. and thus stayed with the S level Cayenne.. it's one thing to go through oil every 800 miles on a 911TT.. quite another on a daily.. could you live with a new S and maybe "chip" it to get you closer to old pig TT HP? I drove everything in comparable SUV's and really nothing compared IMHO.

It might be hard to go back to an S after having had the CTT for over a year, but I do love the look of the Tit.S. Maybe a newer CTT or a CTS is the answer (except my 18" snow tires won't fit, right?). I'm a little afraid of a new CTT given the new engine. I am getting my CTT back tomorrow -- no real answer on what was wrong. We'll see. Thanks for everyone's comments.

CTTS would be my choice. Particularly if you could get the Marine blue with tan interior.

Dude, you're hurting my feelings....I was inspired by Lewis' avatar with three lapping tongues. I just chose to go with one big one.
Here in the Pacific Northwest we get plenty of grey....It's a downer for me.

I think it might be a reference to PAG's last stated position that Turbo engines (CTT, 996TT, 996GT2, et. al) can burn as much as 1qt every (pick you number: 1500miles, 1200 miles, 1000 miles, 1000km, 800miles, 600 miles).
They will not consider the engine for warranty claim examination unless there is documentation showing 'excessive' oil consumption beyond the numbers printed above.

I'll admit it could have been better worded... 955TT owners have a lot of posts about having to add a quart of oil every 800 miles or so.. we've discussed how PAG's position is that it's a "normal" burn rate.... thus my point was: not a big deal for a 911TT garage queen that you race, etc. but I opted not to drive a 955TT again because I really wouldn't like adding oil all the time -- in addition to the other vices this vehicle exhibits! ..on my beta and the Tit.S, I have a combined 100K miles and have never had to add a drop of oil.

This oil consumption issue is weird. I had a 2000 M5 new and it was truly fantastic except that it did the same thing; 1qt Mobil 1 every 5-800 miles. The wierd thing was that at around 20K miles it suddenly stopped using oil at any noticeable rate. It really did suck using that car as a daily and having to carry bottles of oil around in the car and popping the hood at every other fill up to add more oil. Messy + reminded me of my early 20's driving a clapped out Econoline van.

Default well...

how about an infiniti FX45? the accel is between an S and a TT, the handling is very close, and the infiniti forums are mostly full of discussions about retrofitting the new grill onto the older models because it is "cool".

not to say they are completely without problems, but they are better than many others. go take a look at porsche in CR's car reliability ratings. there are a WHOLE bunch above it.

choose wisely.....
