My mechanic (local Protomotive dealer) has a higher mileage 04 he drives the snot out of and his opinion is not to worry. These things seem to have more nagging issues than major problems on the average. He services many Cayenne's and his opinion is your biggest expense or issue would be computers and they can get expensive but not all that bad.
I have been looking at a number of 06TTS's figured I might trade my low mileage 04 in for one before I end up naked but to be honest the additional $20k it is going to cost me can cover a lot of repairs. Just a thought.
BTW I only eat the loin cuts.

Luck, yes, that's something I'll need. Btw, huge thanks for all of the behind the scenes advice throughout these past few years. I really appreciate it. "Wanna do lunch?" (c)

Enigma, did you consider third party warrantys or are you rolling nude? I am getting there, 38k, with 6mos of factory left. Found some bumper to bumper warranties that mirror the factory warranty, and could not find where coils, or anything else except normal wear and tear items, would not be covered. Price is right for 5yrs and up to 100k, about $1,900. Even let you go to a Porsche dealer, and they pay directly, no claim forms.
I have not had coil issues, but am going in for the 40k service shortly, and am going to make sure they replace them, even if I have to lie about symptoms. Seems like it is a matter of when, rather than if for the coils.

Burning Brakes
great thread Engwmn...
my CS @ 44k makes me also think about the post warranty period...maybe I am missing something but I just don't honestly see how buying a new car would be financially better..it's great if one needs a change and not worried about the "additional" money spent and yes most dealer visits total will read ZERO...but the monthly payments or the cash invested would pay for lots and lots and lots of major repairs....this is "IF" major repairs are needed.
I also agree with Brad...warranty vendors better know that the odds are with them that majority of clients will not need major repairs, to make money
( I overheard that they may even hire expert analysts to crunch some numbers)
funny that I remember the good old sales pitch:
spend more to save more...
yeh right?
any thoughts?
