Are you buying it from a Porsche dealership? If so, is it CPO? If not, who are you buying it from? New car dealership? Used car lot? Private party? No comments on price because used cars vary a lot based on condition.

you don't want to own a cayenne without a warranty. How long do plan on keeping it?

That would be around 70k new. I might suggest taking it to a P dealer to have it checked out. Why is the seller getting rid of it?

Too expensive. If its from a private party, with only 1 year of warranty left, I wouldn't pay more than $38k.

So in 2.5 yrs, the seller only put 18k miles on it? Hmmm.. While this is not uncommon for other Porsches, but I would think most Cayennes are daily drivers rather than garage queen. This would make me a little suspicious, what area are you in?

As far as excellent condition goes, unless you consider yourself an expert. I would spend few hundred dollars to have a Porsche dealership check out the car. Most importantly making sure the car has not been in a major accident!

Lastly, based on what I gather from this forum, the car may need quite a few things at that mileage - tires, brakes, & 20k service will set you back few thousands depending on where are you going to have them done. These cars are not cheap to maintain by any means. So beware.

If all checks out, the Cayenne is a blast to drive! I love mine!!

Here's more info:
The cayenne is coming from CA. I live in Hawaii.
It has new tires. Its seller's 3d car N his wife wants a sedan.
It is under warranty till Dec 08; I plan on purchasing an extended warranty for 6yrs/100,000miles -odometer reading-fr Warranty direct for $3,200ish.
I plan on keepin it as long as it doesn't tap out my limited bank account! Hmmmm, sounds like it could just do that. What's a CPO? alpha/beta? Aloha!

I'd get a PPI and assuming it's all OK, I'd buy it for that price and bag the aftermarket warranty. The odds that you'll pay more than $3,200 in "fixes" and not normal maintenance for the 2 years that warranty will cover is LOW. Sure, it could happen, but it most likely won't.

Alpha/Beta owners, FLAME AWAY!

No. Don't buy anything earlier than 2006. Search the forum and you'll find out why not.
