Yeah the key fob is up there for me also. However, if you are Larry locking the car was never an issue. He was just praying for someone to steal his Cayenne.

No, no "citrus process" was invoked.....IIRC, that was reserved for Droptop.

There are 'other' legal means available....or so I'm told

I've ordered a mObridge unit and expect it in a few weeks. One question: will I have to give up my CD changer in order to install as outlined by Mud & Max?

Most devices added to MOST network must simulate another device to work. Porsche (Becker) software in the car is not flexible or accessible.

In this case the mObridge unit simulates the CD Changer on the MOST fiber optic ring and uses the capabilities of the CDC Software in the headunit to control things.

The MOST system only expects to see 1 CDC on the network and while you could connect 2 there will always be a conflict, most likely based on which unit boots first.

The outcome would be sometimes you have a CDC sometimes a mObridge unit but never both at the same time.

There are probably ways around this, either by bypassing one of the units at startup. mObridge has a bypass setting which can be used to make the unit "go away" when a dealer tester is hooked up. You could not do that with the CDC as the unit has to be powered to pass the signal and that was not a feature built in to it.

I removed my CDC and sold it on EBAY, not one regret as the iPod works so well I could not imagine wanting to put a cd into the changer anymore.

Yes to the loss of the CD changer in the rear compartment BUT I don't miss it BECAUSE.. the single CD on the PCM itself will still work. So on the rare occasion, that you have a new CD not converted to your iPod and/or a CD that a "guest" wants to play and/or a CD audio book from the library etc., you WILL be able to still enjoy CD's --- but you'll have to eject and play them one by one!

I had the Dension unit in my CLK and I loved it. It had the capability of playing either the CDC or the Ipod, because it was a D2B system. After about a week, I didn't use the CDC at all. Took it out and sold it. The way I look at it is you either have CDs or you have an Ipod. Don't really need both. Ipod has many more songs than you could ever get on 5 cds, so I did not think I was compromising, only increasing the number of songs available without having to reload the 5 cds, etc.

Ordering the mObridge today. Merry Christmas to me.

Just as a point of historical reference, there was a time during the development of the PCM where you could in fact have 2 CDChangers on the ring....the S/W would simply assume that if a new device showed up, it would assume it was a CDC and treat it accordingly..

This allowed for all kinds of playtime......

Or at least that's what I read on an internet forum.....I know, you can't believe everything you read.
