CAYENNE OWNERS THAT HAVE NEVER HAD COILS
#33
I spoke too soon. (See post #3 above).
Turns out I do I have coil issue (at 39,8XX).
Went to the dealer today for 40K service today.
On Saturday (2 days before my scheduled service), truck stalled backing out of the garage. (WTF?) This morning, before heading off to the dealer, it stutterred after ignition.
I told dealer about it when I got there and they said it was a cracked coil issue. They replaced the coils during the 40K service. Everything seems fine now.
The coil problem seemingly happened overnight.

Case in point.. I finally am at my office and bothered to pull out the files.. I started complaining about cold idle/roughness at 7800 miles.. car stalled at 34,000 miles one time.. never could find codes or faults stored by PIWIS.. at 46,000 miles and two years of ownership.. found all 8 plugs prematurely worn and ALL coils had hairline cracks (allowing moisture) thus replaced all.
So, it would seem that you get used to it and it seemed worse during high humidity (spring/summer).. if you have part number 948-602-104-00 ... it is eventually going to fail.. only later models got a new coil design (or at least that is what I think.. brad/ltc?).

I remember Larry's Cayenne.......never washed/waxed, baked on brake dust that a Brillo pad wouldn't remove........well, it was washed by the dealer when it was in for service (I know, when was it NOT in for service) who either felt bad or was embarassed to have it sitting on the lot looking the way it did.....
Why wash a pig....it's only going to go back and roll in the mud again.....save water, dont' wash a Cayenne.

'06 Tit.S has been absolutely bullet-proof to date. 9 months/12K miles.
