Cayenne S in for 30,000 mile check-up...
Wow - brought the Cayenne in today for it's "Yearly" oil change (since I have a couple of cars I never place more than 10k a year on the ole' girl) and found out the sparkplugs amoungst other things need to be changed via the "30k service check".
Spark plugs - I thought everyone was using Plat-Tips now so they go 1,00,000 miles...
Last year it was new brakes - can't wait to see what they find this year...
THERE IS A RECALL FOR A COMPUTER UPDATE - don't know what this might be but I'll be getting it...
SO - got a '07 A6 loaner - not as quick as my A6 '05 Line S but nice none the less...
Sooooooooooooooooooooo - OK - done venting - back to drinking...

John:
I was just in at 30K and they didn't change the plugs. (Not sure if they even checked them). Don't have the book handy, but from memory, I don't recall that being a service item.
They did do new pads and rotors, and 4 new tires (as chronicled in a post I put up a few weeks back).

Yes. It is here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ferrerid=34752
Also on Renntech, which seems to be down right now.
P.S. John: I don't see plugs as a maintenance item.

If your car fell in the target batch of Pencil Coil problems some dealers were changing both plugs and coils first time around. This has since changed, Peter could not afford it anymore, but I know some dealers and techs on this board believe its a sound solution to prevent repeat issues.
I know.

Checked with the ole' service writer - guess I am using the "Extereme Driving Conditions" (Towing, stop and go traffic, etc.) so 30k falls into that...
Would be very interesting if they are doing the Pencil coils and plugs - otherwise I still can't imagine why the plugs....
Gonna go search Rennlist for the 30k service...

Keep us posted on this "computer" update, too. Haven't heard of any TSBs on that. Maybe it exorcises all the miscellaneous gremlins out of the PCM?? Or maybe it just installs more tracking software so Peter can tell if your kids ate a hamburger in the back seat or your dog drooled on the upholstery?
