Quick towing connector question
Alright settle down, no need to get your boxers in a bind, your bikini in a bunch, your thong in a knot,...... remember, Larry is dead ( RIP I miss him) and the use of "!" has been banned from this forum for a while now.
No, of course it's not for me, I'm trying to help a fellow forum member.
For those of you who purchased a Cayenne with factory tow option (1D6 or 1D8):
Did your dealer install the 7 pin Pollack connector (under the rear bumper, next to tow receiver) for free during PDI, or did they charge you for the part?
Thank you.

Installed for free. ParkPlace went down to a local Ford dealer that had one in stock, biught it, installed it and even programmed the control module for "US" settings (PIWIS changed it back to RoW for me later on when).

It will be a pleasure to use a V6 loaner or if the weather is nice, he's promising me the boxster.

Had a local hitch shop put it in. The dealer had NO clue as mine was the first Cayenne used for towing anything he had sold and the only S to date with PASM...

My dealer had told me it is an additional part that needs to be purchased ($20) and wasn't included in the package.
Thank you Ltc for asking in my behalf and everyone else for responding....

My salesman had no idea, so he called the parts mgr who didn't know either. So I called Porsche USA who called Brandywine Porsche, who mailed me the adapter with the flap door and the connecter to connect to the 4-wire connector on my trailer- no charge.
When my dealer found ou,t the parts manager said I could have bought it all from them for about $32- generous huh?
Anyway, it took 5 min to install- there isn't anything to program, it just works when you connect your trailer.
