Exclamation Quick towing connector question

Alright settle down, no need to get your boxers in a bind, your bikini in a bunch, your thong in a knot,...... remember, Larry is dead ( RIP I miss him) and the use of "!" has been banned from this forum for a while now.

No, of course it's not for me, I'm trying to help a fellow forum member.

For those of you who purchased a Cayenne with factory tow option (1D6 or 1D8):

Did your dealer install the 7 pin Pollack connector (under the rear bumper, next to tow receiver) for free during PDI, or did they charge you for the part?

Thank you.

Installed for free. ParkPlace went down to a local Ford dealer that had one in stock, biught it, installed it and even programmed the control module for "US" settings (PIWIS changed it back to RoW for me later on when).

But Bill Clinton wears boxer briefs.. so what is the "witty" wordplay for that?

What does the "cat got his tongue", is the friend a "shrinking violet", a "wussy", "afraid of his forum thread shadow" ... So much so that he has to get the forum stalwart to ask his "quarst-shun"?

Factory tow option connector was connected at pick-up as well as the software activated. Of course that was because, I lost my Hawaiian mind and got a second Cayenne and knew that the device needed to be installed and activated after having "no joy" when I rented a UHaul to tow college boy's stuff to his dorm. And FYI, I just called at 5500 miles and 3.5 months to rotate/balance tires and rattle-squeak adjust.. The service writer nearly fainted when I told him I've had ZERO problems in all this time (I averaged a visit a month for my entire BETA experience!).
It will be a pleasure to use a V6 loaner or if the weather is nice, he's promising me the boxster.

I got a blank stare from my dealer.

Bought the part from etrailer.com and installed it myself. I think it was this one. If you really want to know I could check my order/receipt e-mails...

(I have no affiliation with etrailer.com)

Yes, that's the one.

MadFox, I'm just trying to help someone who contacted me via email.

Had a local hitch shop put it in. The dealer had NO clue as mine was the first Cayenne used for towing anything he had sold and the only S to date with PASM...

Yes, I confess , I did contact Ltc thru e-mail and asked him about the missing part of my tow package.

My dealer had told me it is an additional part that needs to be purchased ($20) and wasn't included in the package.

Thank you Ltc for asking in my behalf and everyone else for responding....

My salesman had no idea, so he called the parts mgr who didn't know either. So I called Porsche USA who called Brandywine Porsche, who mailed me the adapter with the flap door and the connecter to connect to the 4-wire connector on my trailer- no charge.
When my dealer found ou,t the parts manager said I could have bought it all from them for about $32- generous huh?
Anyway, it took 5 min to install- there isn't anything to program, it just works when you connect your trailer.

Sunset did not charge me, but I asked for it when I bought the car.
