Default SpeedTV picks Cadillac Escalade best SUV

...in the Luxury SUV department, the Cadillac Escalade was the clear dominator, crushing the rest of the competition.
http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto...wmodels/34544/

How could they possibly pick the Escalade over the technologically superior Cayenne (Turbo S)?
Has anyone emailed this to Peter the Great at the mothership down in Atlanta?
This is an outrage. (ed: )

Hmmn, and yet they picked the Boxster S 'best high performance roadster'

Because Cadillac spends more money in TV ads and sponsorship of the Speed GT series....... Do you think Speed actually had a choice?

Then why didn't they pick the CTS-V in it's category?
Last time I checked, the Cayenne and Boxster wasn't running Speed World Challenge (yet the Boxster won), but I do recall seeing CTS-V cars on grid (which didn't win).
So I don't think it's TV ads and sponsorship.

Your turn.

Actually that might tow my enclosed ATC real nicely but boy would I catch a ton of sh*t from my kids if I drove a Cadillac!!!! I must admit there are days driving back from a busy weekend at the races when you're tired and beat up that that thing would be awfully comfortable for a 4-6 hour tow... and I bet the highway in front of our driveway would be on the NAV...

(of course, I need something to plug my new durametric software into...)

IF, and it's a big if, the Escalade ever came with the Duramax/Allison combo, I'd buy one as a tow vehicle.
There is something to be said for diesel comfort. My wife's 05 Excursion PSD Eddie Bauer is pretty comfortable, but it's not an Escalade.

I've asked a friend at a GMC dealership and he seems to think they'll never put the duramax-allison combo in a Suburban, let alone the Caddy version...

Yes, I know; they're planning....a hybrid.

However, the Expedition EL will be getting a diesel, the new 6.4L......lots of nice creature comforts, yadayada.....I think my wife might get one......not sure if I'll give up the Excursion however.

My post was in jest...... As most of yours are.

I won't be baited into a discussion of subjectives.

This thread has gone way off topic..... Move it to the OT forum

Now that takes all the sport out of it, doesn't it?

Move it to the OT forum?
The last time there was a Cayenne thread in the OT (regarding the facelift), the poor defenseless Cayenne was torn to shreds.
If you think I'm a bit "harsh" on the Cayenne, go and see what a bunch of 944/928 folks think of the Cayenne.

The Escalade was poorly rated in a recent Road and Track article. Only the Navigator was worse. The Escalade was the only modern SUV in this class that still uses a live axle, for example.

Don't forget the Ford Excursion (some people LOVE live axles and 7000# of cold rolled American steel):

Eat a lot of crow to own one.....BTW, how does your Cayenne taste lately

Why not, rebadging is all the rage with OEM's lately. For example:

Cayenne/Touareg
Navigator/Expedition
Escalade/Suburban
