Default "CD Heat" message displayed

We just have the base radio/cd player. While tailgaiting at Richmond fairgrounds Saturday, and playing some good old southern rock, the cd player quit and displayed the message "CD Heat". Or that is the message as best I can recall. The disc was very hot after the machine let go of it and it played fine on the way home. Obviously, the thing doesn't like to sit still and run the cd player on acc. Any ideas other than plugging a boom box into one of the many dc recepticles? Is there something wrong with mine or is that the nature of der beast.

I have noticed that the PCM screen will at times get almost too hot to touch while driving. Would not think that there was added air movement through the back when driving. But, given the advanced (?) design of the LEAST, ooooops MOST, maybe there is air circulation behind the unit when underway.

What, now you're blaming MOST for global warming?

porsche may have invented global warming in an attempt to keep air cooled engines at a more stable temperature so they would pass emissions

Trust me, if I thought for a moment that global warming would bring back air cooled Porsches (be still my beating heart), I'd be roasting marshmallows at the North Pole right now!.....washed down of course with Purplesaurus Rex

I have seen home made .........."BURNT" CDS cause that fault as well as a bad radio, it was a burnt cd try to duplicate the issue with a store bought audio cd, if you can duplicate then it can be a faulty radio

Thanks, it was a homemade cd. I'll try a store bought cd. I'm going in for some warranty work in the next couple of weeks, will the fault show up for the tech if they look for it?
