Default 40K Service $800.00

I am nearing my 40K service. Dealer is qouting me an $800 price tag. Oil, filters, diagnostics, etc. She mentioned changing spark plugs. Wouldn't that have been done when they replaced my coils?
Seems pretty steep for the service being provided. Thoughts?

And if you bring your trailer with you for the service they'll count how many running lights you've disconnected...

Just a wild guess, but if you haven't replaced pads yet you should budget for some brake work in addition to the $800. I think I've seen some prices on here in the past.

Other than the scan of the diagnosis systems (which I believe is maybe an hour job?) everything else is pretty much SOP for any oil change I get at a reputable establishment. And that has never cost me $80.00 let alone $800.00. Ok I have 2WD vehicles so theres only 1 set of driveshafts to check but still. . . Most of that we could do ourselves if we get the vehicle in the air. Sometimes I think the dealer idea of service involves a bull.

I just paid $59.00 for Mobil 1 10/30 and aftermarket filter but this was for my VW Passat VR6 at my local BP/tire dealer. I never said a Cayenne oil change would be that cheap but it should still be a lot less than $5-800 too. Of course at the dealer yiou have to pay for the receptionists and the floor sweeper and the TV in the waiting room and the great decor and the special tools and to send a tech to Atlanta or Birmingham or wherever to learn to service a Carrera GT if one should ever show up etc.

I just got a quote for $960. The next closest dealer to me is over an hour away and not open on weekends. So not much help there either

hey... dealer service on a 993 @ the 45k interval is like $780 (does not include plugs).

i don't think that's too bad for the pepper. i'm about 30k miles away from mine anyway.
@ least there are cute girls in the bentley/rolls showroom next door @ my stealer.

I just got three quotes in the DC area today. Lowest was $830, next was $920, and highest was $1000. It's hard for me to see how the work list provided in the owners manual adds up to those numbers.

I'm thinking of checking with some independent shops next...
