Default Phantom Radio- anyone else?

Have the CDR 23 in my truck- at random times, when I start the truck, the radio will be on, when I KNOW I left it off last time I got out. Always on FM1, the first preset. Dealer has not a clue what is going on; have had the head unit replaced once and amp replaced twice (for the MOST ring hang where the radio won't play)

Any ideas? A known bug that is on the list to be fixed some day? Anyone? Anyone? ltc?

My radio likes to mis-identify stations (I know I am on one, but the display shows something else) as well as mystery channel changing

A funny example: KPBS (Pubic Radio) resides on 89.5 in San Diego. I usually listen to it on the drive into work for the news. On a recent cloudy day, it decides to switch itself back to 89.1 which happens to be Howard Stern. I went from hearing about Israel/Hezbollah to Howard and guests talking about eating.....well let's just say not hot dogs.

I had the same problem and the dealer replaced the radio.

Had same problem and was cured by installing latest PCM S/W, and BOSE update. Prior to fix, frequency would shift all by itself -- sometimes from AM to FM.

I have noticed that the volume seems to change on ours. I know that our early Boxster did this as the mph's increased so would the volume. The pepper seems to do this for no apparent reason??

Had the same problem with an early build CS and the CDR23. Both the volume issue and the station ID issue. These issues were never fixed when I traded it in.

My late 04 Build CT with NAV seems to be working perfect now. (knock on wood>>)

Your 04 CS likely has the Audio Pilot (VNC) / Speed sensitive volume set to 'ON' by default.
This was the initial factory release default; however a lot of people complained about it, so on later production models, the S/W was programmed for the default to be 'OFF'.

Simply access this function via your 'Menu' button and turn it 'OFF'.

Problem solved.
