DIY oil change for CV6?
I've changed oil and filter on every car i've owned (at least once, lol) how to do it on the VW, errr Porsche V6? but how to get the computer reset? And will DIY oil change hurt warranty? I'm not 100% sure but it's probably the exact same procedure as on a 2001 Passat, lol...

ok... the filter is a Porsche 95510756100...
And it uses 7 quarts of Mobil 1, 5w-30...
There's a couple plastic skirts under the engine.
How hard can it be? Just find the drain plug, right? Just have to remove the RIGHT plastic panel... to access the drain plug.

As for the warning reset. ONLY the dealer can do that.....or sombody with a PST2.

Get yourself a big drainpan cause they make a mess...It also helps to drain the filter before removing it completely. I believe its a 6mm allen for the filter drain, and a 36mm for the filter housing itself...

Is a top drain 'suction' oil change a possibility for the V6? This is how MB performs the oil changes and it seems to be a rather simple process. Of course the filter still needs attention but could this also be dealt with from above as opposed to working beneath the vehicle?

It's somewhat controversial in that PAG states NOT to use a topsider but to use the drain plug. Reason is that you will not be able to extract the major particles that will rest at the bottom the way you would with a "gravity" drain removing the drain plug.
I am not sure I agree with the stance PAG has taken since I had to (actually stated my Mercedes Benz) use a topsider to change the oil in my ML430. The dealers would also use a topsider. theirs were a bit more fancy though since they were hooked up to vacuum lines as opposed to most that are used by private individuals are pump driven.
Unless the engine in the Cayenne is designed in such a way that does not allow total extraction from a topsider I think it is just a "preferred" method that PAg would like endorsed. My thoughts are as long as you bring the oil just to operating temp before draining/extracting you will be able to remove 99% of oil and contaminants. (using either method with one no more superior than the other).
Thoughts?

I have used the topsider on my Audi as well as my MB with good results and a lot less grief on oil changes. Now that I have it I also use it on smaller engines like my generator etc...
Once the warranty period is up I'll likely give it a shot on the Cayenne as well and see how much it does draw out. It should be easy to figure out if I got it all when it's compared to the re-fill specs.

I was under the impression when doing the oil on my ML, that according to MB, the reason they use a topsider is that is gets MORE out than the conventional drain plug method.

cool... I'm waiting patiently. I'd rather do it myself and pocket the $$.
