Question I'm in...pass the kool aid!! Newbie question...

So....I picked up an 04 CS a few weeks ago and drove it about 1000 miles back home. Great ride and got about 20.5-21 mpg which was a nice surprise.

Anyway, I noticed that the plastic push button on the side of the rear headrest was missing. I spoke with Sunset and they said that it looks like they cannot order just the push button...have to order a headrest! Anyone have any experience with this little item?

Also, I have to run a front license plate in MD and the mounting bracket is not with the truck. So Sunset is sending me one but says it needs to be painted if I want it to match the body color. Has anyone seen one before it has been painted? If so, what color is it? Anyone have a carmon red metallic one laying around that they want to part with?

If it worked there should be a pic of our new addition...

Thanks!

I just checked on the bracket that came with my silver Cayenne. Since it has never been installed, it was still wrapped up. I just unwrapped it and realized it is painted silver, just like the car.

I had thought they might all be black like the ones that come with the 997's.

Car looks great (mine's the same color)! Congrats! Did you get it from a dealer in MD? If so, which one? Also, who/what's Sunset? This is the second time I'm hearing this name mentioned.

When I bought my '05 it had the license plate bracket that matched the car's color.

It's simple to fix..... Order a new bracket then go to an automotive paint store. Have them match Carmon Red and prepare a spray can.
Then all you have to do is use some Krylon primer and finish in the Carmon Red.

Sunset is a dealer in Oregon that advertises parts at cost +15%.

They are typically cheaper than most dealers, but "cost" must mean different things because I checked a few parts with my dealer and he matched the Sunset by giving me the PCA discount....... And I didn't have to pay shipping.

Thanks Scott & ltc. Will definitely consider them when it's time to get new wheels some time this fall.

EnigmaWmn -

Actually, the CS came out of Florida. My wife was very specific in her color choices and finding a red one with black interior was more difficult than I had thought. Found several with tan and a few with gray...black was tough. A small auto sales company had this one that they picked up at auction. I really like this color combo as well so I didn't mind searching.;-)

Funny. My story is completely opposite. It was impossible to find an '05 Carmon Red/Beige and that was the only color I wanted. Could have driven away with a very nicely priced (+ well optioned) '05 Black/Black CTT, but I severely (to put it mildly) don't like black interiors. Found the car out of state in MD without nav, without satellite, without wood trim and then had everything installed later on :-).
