MPG of Cayenne
Could someone tell us what people are actually getting for city and highway driving with their Cayenne V6? Thanks

My wife drives our V6 mostly unless we're on a road trip. Here on the Beach (Outer Banks, NC) she drives on our big road with a speed limit of 50 and neighborhood limits of 25-35 and she never gets less than 19-20 mpg. On the really big road, I-95, doing 80 plus, we got 20-21. I'm more than happy with the mpg. Her previous SUV, ML 320 was more like the 17-18 mpg.

PdxJim,
If I mind the peddle, I can maintain 19/20 in town. 21/22 highway with up to 23/24 making a run from Aspen back to the house.
Can't complain, but if you start getting your foot into it all bets are off...........

Commute to work... 12 miles one way, 3 or 4 stops/lights... straight run... about 17 mpg.
On the highway, 19+, but I've never seen 20 mpg.
Keep in mind that I almost always use the tiptronic.
Overall, I'm happy with the V6.
P.S. Has anyone really seen a difference in mpg driving in auto vs. tip/manual mode? I've never really bothered to experiment to try to calculate the difference. (I guess because it's no fun to drive in auto mode.)

I'm getting the same as Dell, but we both live in Vegas so the hot weather plays a role in that as well. On my road trips I can get about 20 mpg if I'm easy...but I rarely drive under 80 on the highway and I'm always throwing it into manual mode and downshifting, so I get about 14-16 in regular city driving.
Haha I like going downhill and watching the nav screen display 38 mpg hahahaha

Normal (for me) driving
~17 city
~19-20 hwy at 80mph using tip to downshift on mountain passes in AZ, NM, and CO
I also did an experiment and tried staying out of the tip and letting the trans shift itself for a full tankful of mostly around town driving. I got 19mpg but had absolutely no fun (felt like I was driving a Camry, or worse yet, a generic wimpy rental car...)

"You must baby the crap out of the throttle."
Not really. About 50% is freeway and 50% iis taken in the twisty hills of Marin, CA. I let the Pepper shift on the highway, but switch to manual for the hills.
