Cayenne Recalls - help
#4
Holy crap.....that is a bad position to be in! Are there any other dealers that you can use that are relatively close to you? I am sure they would love to get your business as well as hear about how bad the competition is.
BTW, if you are a contributing member over at Renntech.org, you have access to TSB's.

FYI there are some word issues also here.
Recall does not always = TSB,
Recall can mean "Service Action" --In other words after sales have some stuff waiting for the next time your VIN hits a dealer, non urgent mostly QA stuff.
A recall in the correct sense is the "bring it in quick its about to explode" recall that Ford made famous.

I have had all of these on my 04 CTT. The only thing to watch out for is the Comfort Control Unit update - hopefully they were very careful to match the software with the hardware. There are a number of different versions of CCU hardware and software out there. My dealer didn't get them right during a couple of iterations. (FYI in these types of systems the software is very specific to the hardware so even a trivial difference in hardware can change the behavior of the software and send the system off into the weeds.) Finally my dealer upgraded both the hardware and the software to the latest versions and all the nagging, strange behaviors disappeared.

I suppose searching for "W401" in the Cayenne forum was out of the question?

Oh, wait, I know, it's an "ltc" post, so those are automatically deleted.
Never mind, it's just another old timer put out to pasture post; I'm sure the new kids are on top of things
