Oil Consumption for a Turbo/Turbo S
Can anyone indicate what their typical oil consumption was during the first 5,000 miles? So far, I have about 3,000 miles, and have had to add almost 3 quarts of oil between 1,000 and 3,000 miles (first time, one quart at 1,300 miles, and one and one half quarts at 2,900). Just wondering if there is greater than normal oil consumption during the engine's early life.
Thanks in advance for any comments!

So far I have clocked about 5,000 miles on my brand new CTT and I've only added 2 quarts. This includes the break-in and so forth. The so forth is speeds of up to 130MPH - legal and little or no traffic on the Autobahn. This automobile is fantastic! Getting back to the oil - it is car to car different. Good luck.

Just checked it... it's fine. I guess the V6 Cayenne is TOOO SLOOOOW to burn OIL

This seems to be an issue mainly for TTs, but it does vary from car to car. My CS has never had a problem. I have added 1 quart in nearly 14,000 miles.

I've changed at 15K mile intervals and consumption has been neglible to non-existent and I do press the throttle and run hard most of the time. Now, if you want to talk about wasted fuel on trips to the dealer.... well, that's so nevermind!
It wasn't even a quart, probably a bit more than half a quart (I was rounding up). I needed to add this small amount early on, maybe at about 5,000 miles or so. Since then, the oil level has not moved. I'm holding off until the PAG-recommended first oil change at about 20,000. But, I got a "Service in 2000 miles" display the other day, so I guess the first oil change will be at about the 16,000 mile mark.

I had the oil change done at 20K and last week the light came on and I added a quart at 30,300 miles. Maybe I am lucky or whatever. Going to have the oil changed pretty soon.

My experience is similiar to the others with a Cayenne S. At 60k miles, and changing oil every 10k, I can't tell that there has been any oil consumption at all. The oil level has always read "FULL" on the dipstick. I haven't experienced ANY measureable oil consumption.

It has been my standard practice to check the oil level at each fill-up, on all vehicles. For the CT, I observed a gradual decrease in the level, over time / usage.
When the add oil level mark was reached, the station did not have a funnel, so I drove home instead of adding oil. But, wiping the oil from the dipstick removed enough to drop the level below the threshold and trip the add oil MFD display.
As part of my ongoing effort to not become complacent too easily, I continued monitoring the level, at each fill, as before. I observed identical results. Once the level reached the add oil mark, the vehicle complained.
Now, for the CT, I check the level infrequently and depend on the superior features, function and reliability of the Porsche Cayenne electronics to perform this essential operation.
To summarize, I added two quarts of oil, between changes, while the vehicle had less than 10K miles. After that, I have not needed to add oil between changes.

The rings have to seat. Oil blow by occurs early. Drive it like you stole it if you want to break in faster.
Additionally, the turbos use oil (extremely high rpm generating lots of heat).
