Sorry for the rant but witless commentary sets me off
I swore I wouldn't get pulled in.......... CONCENTRATE.... focus on this forum's objective.. Porsche vehicles that liberals and conservatives love...feel like Rainman.. okay... I love my Cayenne ... I hate my Cayenne... I love my Cayenne.... BUT.. damn it I can't help myself..

Kooser, buddy old pal, who admitted error in cruising at 130 mph on public roads.. let me just say that I truly believe about 10 years from now maybe 20.. you and most of the world will be thanking George Bush for having the ***** to do this (and EnigmaWmn, there are also folks that don't think Oswald shot Kennedy.. and Bill Clinton is an alien.. and black helicopters take people up to Bill's UFOs).

IMHO, Kooser, you should have STOPPED at the only part that I left of your self entitled "rant". You used the term "witless commentary" that is so typically "liberal" ... anyone who has a different and informed opinion is "witless".. come on, you're a Doc, you know better and should hold yourself to a higher standard. I disagree with you but I won't be disagreeable.

So, Kooser, have you served in the military? If not, please do not quote to me that MOST of your brother and cousin's comrades all call this an "unjustified invasion". That is entirely UNTRUE. I still have friends who are Admirals and senior officers in the military in all branches. I served for 20 years active and inactive duty. The VAST majority and I mean VAST do not think that this is a war for oil or an "unjustified invasion" of a former sponsor of terrorism .. and I use the word FORMER purposefully. Is the solution painful... You're damn right it is. Do you remember people saying that Saddam would kill 10,000 to 20,000 of our troops on day one? The best military force in the world has now lost about 2000 people after 3 YEARS.. impressive.. a tragedy for those families but an amazingly small number nonetheless.

Now, yes, Iran and others still harbor and ferment terrorism... but that doesn't mean that removing a dictator who killed millions and violated the food for oil program (there is no dispute of these points) was unjustified. The best way to keep it from spreading to our shores later instead of sooner (hopefully never!)is to KILL terrorists in the Middle East -- Iraq became a stepping stone to accomplish that goal... we couldn't do it from Israel.. the Saudi princes are too scared to death of radical Islam and so we couldn't do it from those bases.. so where do you launch offensive KILL the terrorists from? Afghanistan? Don't think so... So, friends.. use your brain.. don't be naive... IRAQ allowed us to wage a war against terror in their backyard, namely the sands of the Middle East. Additionally, even the Saudis still want the free flow of oil and Saddam represented a threat to that just as Iran now appears to be as well.

Lastly, to counter one of your comments.. I do not consider myself either Republican or Democrat.. I vote conservatively financially and philosophically. An example? One of my best friends from high school and college is a Democrat who I gladly supported in HER, yes HER successful run for a elected judicial position (she won). Alabama's republican governor may not get my vote this year as he tried to raise taxes two years ago by a 1/2 billion dollars and now with a surpluse is proposing a 1/2 billion dollar cut. Had the tax increase gone through the legislature would have spent every dang dime.

You can argue a lot of OFF TOPIC things here.. but it is now so Politically Correct to bash Bush, blame him for terrorism, and that our "standing" in the world has been tarnished.. ONE LAST off-topic POINT. We have the highest standard of living in the world. We represent FREEDOM. Thus, most of the world HATES us... and in fact, will continue to hate us. No amount of sucking up to the Europeans, the Terrorists or CHINA will change that fact. Socialist and communist leaders want America and American style democracy to die.
RANT OVER.

MadFox, I tried to google "clinton is an alien", but nothing comes up, sorry :-D

On a Cayenne-related note. Does anyone on this forum live in NY and drive a black Turbo S that was seen at Americana Manhasset today around 2pm? Windows were tinted, and I'm dying to know if it was just another soccer mom making shopping rounds :-D

I think it depends on what your definition of "alien" "is"?
The photo is hilarious.. Great advertising for a B'ham headquartered company. EBSCO (bag on woman's shoulder with 'out of Iraq' sign) may not appreciate however being right next to "xxxx job"!

It wasn't a soccer mom --- it was actually one of the pilots of those black helicopters with tinted windows that picks up our citizens to be examined in one of Bill's UFO's!

RANT OVER.
I had to cut out some of your rant, forgive me.

Let us first get the story straight...I was cruising at over 165mph according to my speedometer!

I have been "Bush bashing" way before he set foot into office, before the rest of the world realized the dolt that he is.

Terrorists will never be exterminated we are just fueling future generations to despise us.

I pray to God that civilization as we know it is still around in 10 to 20 years, and we won't be looking back fondly on GWB's "leadership"

I am completely respectful of your service and opinion. But I am just repeating what I hear from my family and friends over there - the discussions that they have, how they truly feel this is unjustified and that we have no business there as a military force.

We both are probably right now as you read my posts and I read your posts

But that doesn't mean that I won't to you and buy you a drink and give you

We agree to disagree

I will no longer be an with this topic and steal this thread!

I promise to and give you the last word.

OK kids, enough already

If you want to find the truth, ask Elvis. He's alive and knows everything you ever wanted to know about (who shot Kennedy, if we REALLY landed on the moon, the attack on Pearl Harbor was known in advance, etc)

Let's return the Cayenne forum to what it always was....adult day care, laundry talk, trailer lighting talk.

My last comment...I'm happy see this thread circle back around to mutual respect. We might agree to disagree but I will always listen to another person's position. Kooser, I hope your family members remain safe.

Yes, he's been living on Mars for some time now, propagating a new species of Martians with, who else but Marilyn.

Sex & religion is usually discussed 6am-11am and then throughout the day on replay.

We'll see how many people listen to Sirius here :-D

If it is any consolation MadFox I did love Ronald Reagan (despite his party affliation!), our 40th pres, , even though I was a little kid (snot-nosed little liberal bastard already!), but looking back on his service and record, I thought he was pretty awesome.

I like having friends of many different backgrounds (religious, socio-economic, political, orientation etc.) it makes for interesting conversation, shared respect of differing opinions, and great reasons to beat up on each other!
