This morning the brain-dead drone, obstructing a line of vehicles in the passing lane, happened to have his butt planted in an unmarked state police cruiser. This drone may also double as a trooper, I don’t know.

In any event, as I was proceeding to pass this line of vehicles obstructing the passing lane, by using the open travel lane, the rear of this cruiser erupted in a cacophony of colored strobe lights.

My initial reaction was: stick a fork in me ‘cause I’m done. But no, this trooper evidently participates in the catch and release program and we both proceeded along, except with my vehicle behind his.

The trooper evidently feels he serves the public welfare by forcing vehicles into tightly grouped clusters, instead of permitting my preference of lots of space.

But, not to worry, several miles later, I was able to pass this particular drone, on the right, this time without incident.

I will agree that although they are fast and capable they are not as much fun to drive as other Porsche's at speed. They require a bit of effort and thought to make sure you are doing everything properly.

I will say that I have proven more than once that my stock CT is faster than a stock 997S in a straight from 60-120mph. It easily gains ground on them. I have also kept up with several 911 based vehicels on back roads. It requires additional concentration over a 911 but it can stay with them when manually shifted.

Regarding autocross, we had a CS at an event a year or so back. The Cayenne finished within 4 seconds of the FTD on a 60 second course with 3 passengers and a driver. Good luck trying to tip it, it looked like they tried hard but it was incredibly stable.

I would say that for a big vehicle with all this weight it definately can out perform most so called sports cars. Many of the cars mentioned it can't out perform you will find you would be struggling in a stock 911 to keep up with.

How would you compare the CTT to the GTS Anthony? The 928 is always regarded as feeling heavy. I know several ways to make it lighter (and feel lighter) then a 996, but Your GTS is stock, so....

Getting a little off topic.

However, I would say that the GTS and the CT are about the same as far as acceleration and performance. One may squeak out a bit more than the other depending on circumstances. I will say the GTS is much more pleasurable to drive and does not feel heavy compared to the Cayenne. Adding the Bilstein shocks and sport springs with 928 specialists sways makes for a very nice handling car. Although it is still not close to my turbo.

In regards to feeling heavy, my turbo feels much more tail heavy than the GTS. The GTS is a well balanced car. I think the reason why the 928's are considered heavy or slow has to do with the way the engine responds. I can run through the rpms faster in the Cayenne and much faster in the turbo.

The 928 is a deceiving auto. It does not feel as fast as it is. When you get the CT moving you know it and the turbo is just plain scarry.

The 928 engine is a bit slow to react sometimes with reference to today's technology. I lighter flywheel on a 5spd does make a difference, as does tuning and engine work, but hey, thats getting into the nitty gritty. Have you ever driven a 5spd 928? Very different animal then a 5spd. Very.
