We have the same problem with my V-6, which is an '06 like yours, but not with the S, which is an '04. If your service department is anything like ours, they seem to find "no fault noticed" with every problem the V-6 has had. Now that I've filed for arbitration, the service manager told me he can't look at any cold start problems.

They looked at it last winter...but they said it isn't clicking "loud enough." If I can find a free day I will use my considerable powers of persuasion to make the dealer replace the pump. I just haven't felt the inclination because it doesn't affect the performance of the truck, but it will be dealt with before the warranty expires, trust me.

Like every other problem I've had with the V-6, it's happened since the vehicle was brought up to Tahoe and when the weather started to get colder. The lowest temp we've had so far is 32...I hate to see what will happen when the mercury dips to single digits.
