Default Warning - Valet Parking Attendant Issue

This past Friday I drove up to Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut for the night for a get together with some friends. When I valeted the Turbo I made a note of the milage 7721 after I checked out the next afternoon I got it back and realized the milage was 7735....now I know the garage was not 14 miles away where they parked it !!! Of course when I complained there was no manager on duty and the valet guy that got my car did not work the night before so now everyone has their hands up in the air like this is my problem.

I really dont want any monetary compensation from this (Foxwoods blows anyway), but I am now working with the "Transporation Manager" to review the situation and make sure justice is served to the person and or team working that night. Even if it means reviewing security tapes.

FYI - I explained my story to a friend that owns a valet parking business and he made a few points:

1) Most Porsches are rare enough that attendents will almost fight to park one....it gets worse if you own one on the upper end like the Turbo. Even if they only drive it 50ft to a parking spot, they can brag to their pimple faced friends that they drove a "Cayenne Turbo"
2) He has fired people for "moving a special car" a few times for no reason during the night and of course for stealing items from inside.
3) If at any point you see a valet person drive the car off the premises it is considered "Grand Theft" and you can have the attendent arrested for stealing your car even if he meant to only go for a joyride.
4) The second you hand the keys over to a valet company that company is now 100% responsible for the condition of that vehicle until you get the keys back...(My friend pays through the nose for business insurance) so make sure you check your car before you drive off. Once you drive off they are off the hook.

My question is: Has anyone ever had a similar "Ferris Bueller" issue like this?? If so how did you handle it and what can we do to prevent something like this in the future...besides driving in reverse to turn back the mileage??

don't valet the cars if you are concerned about it, I never do, NEVER. If you have some photos for evidence with the time and date, it might help, otherwise good luck...

I am sorry to hear this as well.

I know if you are a Valet freak and don't like to park your car....I think.......REVO makes software that has a valet mode, not sure for the Cayenne but for other cars I would look into it and see if it's offered.

Good luck with your case, I would get furious with those people.

When I take my TT to Foxwoods I park it myself in a suitable space.

What are you thinking, tossing the keys of a 450 hp monster to some kid?

Rule 1: Never valet your car.
Rule 2: Always obey rule one.

Thanks for the advice !! I will look into it and let you know if I find anything.

As for everyone else's advice I agree 100% "NO Valet, NO problems" You can't trust anyone but yourself. You would hope that people would respect you and your vehicle, but that was obviously not the case. I guess my problem is that I am a nice guy and place a lot of trust in people to "do the right thing"

Bring your Cayenne into the dealer and have them read out Overrevs (type 1 and 2), just to get an idea of what, if any, engine abuse may have occured.

I would just make a complaint to the appropriate person and chalk it up to experience. Recognize the chaps in my avatar?

LOL Awesome pic !!
I just got off the phone with the "Transportation Manager" he was actually very surprised that this happened since he said that they have a very strict system with the garage since they deal with so many cars. He said that each car is checked into and out of the garage and there really isn't much moving around of cars...but we all know there are ways to beat the system. He said they are going to review the security video tapes and look for any issues with my vehicle and give me a call back in a few days.
