Default Extended Warranties

I've been thinking of getting an extended warranty for my 04CT, and have been researching on the Web. I've checked about 5 companies, and keep running into the same two roadblocks. It seems that many companies do not offer policies in California, and those that do will not write a policy on a Turbo (S is OK). I suppose if I want a policy I need to go to a Porsche Dealer.

Any recommendations?

I just did this on the Boxster and actually went to the dealership. I found that they do not sell "porsche warrantys" they actually use outside vendors !!
I went for it anyway but I was actually surprised. Let me know what your dealer says. If you want the name of the company PM me and I can check the paperwork.

It's a Dodge, only $4000 so far, must be the first month out of the factory warranty. I owned three in the past five years and never have a seen a car fall appart as much as the Dodge product seems to. Thank goodness my 2000 Dakota had the ball joints replaced 3k from new otherwise I may have lost my wheels.

I also bought the extended warranty on the Durango R/T that I currently have and I am so happy I did. The rear end has had various parts replaced twice, the 'whole rear end' once, the front brakes 3 times, the body went crooked on the frame, the rear shocks, the left engine bank (head) had to be replaced, the front seats are still short leather covering over the seat back cams and neither of the heated rear view mirrrors are heated any longer. All covered under extended warranty and it only cost me $1,250 when I bought the vehicle. And now I am in the process of waiting for the 'recall' letter to replace the front ball joints before I sell it to someone and go for the Cayenne. I will always take the extended warranty especially with a 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicle. It is a bit of cash but a great deal of piece of mind. JW3

I purchased the extended warranty through the local dealer. I wanted to purchase through the dealership that will do the repairs. Cost about $4,500. It covers everything to include air suspension and turbochargers. The turbochargers are the roadblock for most warranty companies. I called several other dealerships and got quotes as high as 8k!!!! I can't remember the company as it is at home but it is 6yr./100k. Let me know if you need the company name.

It would be great if you could post the company's name and also the dealership that sold it to you. I'd probably be interested in something like a 7yr / 60Kmi policy because I don't put too many miles on mine.

Thanks,
Phil

I paid about $3K for mine 7YR./100K mi. without deductable and so far I haven't needed to use it (Knock on wood)! It's peace of mind and can save you big bucks in the long run. It is transferable so a good selling point. My dealer wanted $6K for a similar policy via AllState Ins. Co. with a $100.00 deductable per occurrence!

Oh yeah, look them up at 1sourceautowarranty.com or call (888) 905-5700. They are out of Greenwood Village, CO.

I bought their Diamond Plan with Emission Coverage and Titanium Package.

Good Luck!
