I noticed something different about my Cayenne loaner (yes, the S is in the shop again) and was wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

In my 04S, if I drive without the seatbelt buckled, you get the warning chimes, etc.

In the loaner 04S, if you drive without the seatbelt buckled, nothing happens.

Anyone else seen this? I seem to recall there was a past thread on someone looking to disable the seatbelt alarms.

I heard that some of the early bad control units caused that to happen. So don't get to excited before you eat.

I got two Cayennes last tueday. One for myself and one for my dad. I started to drive my dads yesterday and realised that his car was beaping like hell. Mine does NOT make any sounds/warnings that I am unbuckled. Thanks god cause I never wear my belt I know i should but...... So gladly I assume mine is ****ed up. I am happy it was mine and not his.....

i think i've made it pretty clear that everyone beats the crap out of loaners.

Earlier build cars did not have seatbelt warninig- my 03 did not chime, my 04 does. According to my service advisor, it was a mid-production change, and behavior is non-selectable (ie, you are stuck with what you have.)

CA is correct - but I don't know the VIN break on "chime". Just glad I don't have it.

My CTT chirps away like a budgie on acid whenever I don't wear my seatbelt - a true pain in the *** when I'm driving 200m from home to the shops...
