Default price for 20K mile service

For 20K mile service on a Cayenne S, Newport Beach Porsche charges $695 and McKenna Porsche charges $395. Does anyone know why there is such a huge difference in price between the two dealers?

Thanks

There may be additional service that Newport Beach Porsche is doing , that's too much of a difference if they are both dealers, I'd understand if it's an independent shop. Have them give you a printout of what they're doing.

Im due for service also and need some software updates so I called Rusnak in Pasadena and Walters in Riverside and there is a differece however not as huge as the quotes you received. It appears $395 is lowest of all 4 of these dealerships i have seen. I asked one of the mentioned dealers why the difference and they say different dealers have different labor per hour rates. They claimed the service is a 4 hour job. Since i wont need them to rotate my 22's i wonder how much time they will knock off. I doubt any. I really doubt it takes 4 hours, but just IMHO. Since nothing is wrong with our vehicle im really debating to just change the oil myself, top off any fluids that need be, and just take it in later for updates, just complain about something and have them take care of under warranty for free.

I believe that the oil change is $395. The 20K service is $695.

I posted this some time ago, but thought it might be helpful:

BTW, some of you guys are getting ripped off -- royal. I just received a price list from Stevens Creek Porsche (San Jose, CA) with the following specifically for the Cayenne:

Oil & Filter Change with Mobile 1, Filter, O-Ring: $118.88
2 Year / 20Kmi Service: $233.00
'S' 4Year / 40Kmi Service: $445.45
'Turbo' 4 Year / 40Kmi Service: $646.35
Brake Fluid Change (Every 2 Years): $99.95
Wheel Alignment: $144

They call this Reduced Maintenance Pricing for '03-04 Cayenne S & Turbo. It says, "We want to keep our Porsche customers coming back to our dealership for all their vehicle needs. By bringing your Porsche to Stevens Creek Porsche, you will guarantee that you receive genuine Porsche parts, approved lubricants, and expert care, all at value pricing. Each of the services includes a complimentary wash & vacuum. We also have Enterprise Rent-A-Car on site for your convenience."

I just had the 20K service on my Cayenne here in Cary, NC. Oil/filter, two recalls performed, fix broken horn under warranty, got a loaner for the day, Cayenne washed and out the door. $225.00.

$350 for an oil change, $695 for a 20K service, living in Newporsche Beach, priceless.

at least you guys have dealers to compare that 'compete' more or less with eachother.

in some places, peolpe only HAVE 1-2 dealers to choose from, and the other is usually reserved for when you get into a yelling contest at the 1st one.

Took to service this morning, decided to just have service done at at Walters in Riverside, CA. seems like lots of little service updates they will fix. Getting new headlights too due to "condensation in headlight complaints". Mine have been fine no condensation or problems. Got call later today dealer says car bumper is scracthed! Now they have to paint and will get back tomorrow, I hope its matched nice , but at least they took care of their mishap in honest fashion. Hopefully tomorrow i dont have to raise any ruckus.

Got back from service i have correction to state. Walters was $430, then minus coupon 20% off so it was not as bad. Service pretty good, did not wash vehicle, could of done that at least for keeping extra day fixing the scratch. Overall was descent experience. About 3-4 pages on invoice conerning warranty related updates. Sheesh.
