Default FM Modulator annoyances

I'm using a FM modulator to hook up a music keg to my CDR-23 head unit.

When I turn off the ignition, the head unit will still be on but the source (music keg, or ipod, etc) is already turned off. Is it possible to turn off the head unit/PCM immediately when the engine is turned off? (I made a simple delay circuit for the source, but it won't work if you the key stays in for more than 5 seconds.)

Also, if I turn on the AP feature and listen to the music, when I pause the source, AP gradually increase the volume and produces hiss noise. Anyone else see similar problem?

1 - turn off autopilot, its useless.
2 - tp kill the power to the FM Modulator as you switch off, power to position 48 on the fuse panel, this is switched.

Yes, #48 is switched and it is where I connect it to.
Problem is the modulator get shut down as soon as I turn off the engine, while the head unit is still on. So I'll hear noisy broadcasts between turning off the engine and unplugging the key.

sorry I misunderstood, I think your probably have to add a manual switched +'ve to the modulator and kill it first. Mine is just under the steering wheel

I have noticed a static sound (crackling) on and off coming from the front when playing music through the FM modulator....I am not sure if it is a problem with that particular unit? What brand FM modulator have you all used?

Mudman2, looked on the web...cannot locate a Panasonic unit. Where did you get it? Thanks.

Again, try to turn off AP and you'll not hear the on-and-off static.
