Question Buying CS tomorrow, what to do pre-delivery?

Very excited!

What should I check for pre-delivery?

Vibration? (This car will have 19" Cayenne Wheels).

Lag? How would I check that?

Anything? I am willing to walk away if I find some problems.

BTW, the dealer was anxious to sell an '04 - he has at least 20 still on the lot.

Thanks,

Patrick

Check the paint, make sure they have the manuals, and the Nav DVD, if applicable. The delivery miles should be less than 10, otherwise get an explanation and if you don't like it, a computer readout.

IMO lags, vibrations etc. are greatly exagerated.

Find something else to worry about and keep your mind off the car

If you did not preorder yours make sure what the options you are getting and agreed w/ dealer are on or in the vehicle. I got mine off the lot with about 10 miles on it, and once about to drive off i noticed my floor mats and roof racks were missing and they had to take the racks off another Cayenne to accomadate me. The floor mats were shipped a week later but im not a whiner so no biggie. I agree w/ Colm; I have had my 04 CAY-S a year and it runs fine and LOOK for scratches!

Thanks for the replies. I will look over the paint today. I am driving it today to go over everything before I committ to the purchase. There is a vibration in the steering wheel but they are going to address it before I buy it. In hot AZ if cars sit on a parking lot the tires flat spot in a big way. May just be that.

Default Vibration

See other posts in the forum about vibration. There can be some nasty and difficult to solve vibration problems. I'd make sure that they are fixed BEFORE you take delivery.

Tell 'em NOT to drill the front bumper! Unfortunately the 911 already comes with big square holes And put on clear corners- big improvement in looks. My nav CD's came from whoever makes them about three days after I took delivery. I don't believe they are delivered with the vehicle but mine was ordered and not on the lot in stock.

Agreed on not drilling! And clear corners look great- just get the right tools. Makes it way faster!

Thanks for the help. Fortunately, we don't have front license plates in AZ and no holes were drilled. The vibration was gone by the time I took delivery ... they replaced the front tires. Real problem with flat spotting on tires if they sit on the lot in the desert heat. BTW, my build date is 3/04.

Patrick did u get a good price for the 04? We are looking at a CS, I don't care much for 04 vs 05. Some dealers around here offered me 6% off MRSP. I am holding off as I don't need the car right now...
