Please assist I have the carfax on my car it shows all maint intervals met until my stewardship (diy). Every interval oil change whole was done at an east coast dealer. While resting at night people have broken into my residence cloned key. Took my car for joyride wrecked it. I awoke one morning and there were 2 dents in it. Various options modules and control units have been stolen. Barrel in door changed the ohh so careless manner in which they hurriedly changed it left a perfect circle around lock barrel..
Emissions tampered with or stolen,
If anyone knows a dealer close to alabama that can bless off on changes i would be grateful. My wifes car she purchased with inheritance after a local enterprise rent a car raised a fraud alert on my card the. Proceeded to charge me in the neighborhood of 11k $ for less than a month of rental. Im trying to save my wifes cayenne she doesn't deserve this.

no problem:
Möge dir dein Weg leicht werden
Möge dir der Wind immer von hinten kommen
Möge dir die Sonne warm ins Gesicht scheinen
Möge dir ein sanfter Regen auf die Felder fallen
und bis wir uns wiedersehen
möge Gott dich in seiner Hand halten.

Confused! I can't see the link between "is this the original engine" and these enterprising theives who can do all this magic in just a few hours that the dealership takes weeks to achieve.
My own experience is with Engine numbers where Porsche refused to confirm the engine number on delivery. It actually does not appear in any owner paperwork that I have and took some considerable effort to get Porsche to part with confirmation that it was as delivered.

Too late to take the insurance payout ?
If one of my cars is stolen, I don't want it back, just the check for the agreed value and I'll start over.
You think thieves can just swap an engine overnight - it takes the Porsche dealer 3-4 days LOL

You must have some noble thieves where you live if you think they would actually swap an engine on a stolen car, rather than just taking the engine out if they had any need for it.
Did they leave an apology note on the dash with an IOU as well?

OP isn't making a lot of sense but if the lock was tampered with more likely the scratch is from tools used to pick or force the lock.
If the key does not work maybe it never worked, lock is gummed up, or there is damage from the lock being forced.
*edit* or that scratch is from someone opening the lock with the key and had other keys on the ring and caused the scratch. This had not been noticed before the incident caused scrutiny.

To help me understand, I need to break things down....
Someone broke into your home in the middle of the night while you were sleeping.
They found your key fob and cloned it.
They exited the house, walked over to your Cayenne and took it for a joyride.
While joyriding, they hit something leaving 2 dents in it.
They stole modules, control units and emissions equipment.
They scratched your door while removing a door lock barrel and installing a different one (just for the heck of it).
They were kind enough to bring the Cayenne back to your home.
You awoke the next morning and noticed all of the above.
You're possibly concerned they may have also swapped out the engine while you were sleeping.
Furthermore....
You rented a car from Enterprise for ~ $365 a day for nearly a month.
Enterprise raised a fraud alert on your card. Credit card? Or did you mean car?
Because you rented a car from Enterprise's Exotic Collection, your wife was forced to purchase an old high maintenance Porsche SUV with money she inherited.

I think this board needs a bit closer moderation.
My previous daily drivers were E38 BMW 740s, and the board I spent a lot of time on was e38.org.
On that board, the IP address of members was recorded and included in all posts.
At the time I thought this was unnecessary, but I now think it was a good idea.
Correction: It was bimmerboard.com/forums/e38/
