Thanks. Actually, I'm borrowing the open trailer too. I figured I'd like to try various types b/f committing to one style or the other. What do you think about some of the aluminum framed enclosed trailers available? They weigh between 2,000 and 2,500 pounds. Pretty close to some of the open trailers and considerably less than the steel framed enclosed trailers.

I do not think the box construction adds a lot to the weight of the trailer, I have 14ft box, the aluminum and fibre glass on the top can't weigh more that a couple of hundred pounds

I've been looking at smaller enclosed aluminum trailers as well. Just like the protection of an enclosed trailer and I can actually store a car in it to free up space in the garage if need be. The Trailex isn't cheap but being lower will have less wind resistance. CargoPro also makes an all aluminum one but I think it is higher and weighs more. All I need now is the damned truck- hopefully getting off a boat now. Should be one of the last '04's!!!

I have a 20' Cargopro (20'box+5' Vnose) all aluminum enclosed, fully dressed (diamondplate floor/ramp, aluminum ceilings&walls w/ carpet 3'up, cabinets, driver side escape door, rear ramp loading lights, LED lights, 12V and 120V lighting/wiring, etc....and it's about 2400#.
Very happy with the trailer and local dealer (www.actrailers.com).
It was far less than a Trailex enclosed, which I passed over, since I didn't like the leaf spring suspension compared to Torflex axles and wanted to be able stand up inside).
20'+5' V nose is plenty of room....could have gone with the 18' and still had plenty of room for car+cabinets+stuff....but everyone says there's no such thing as too much trailer space.

Hi Lewis,
Got your email and emptied my mail box. Thanks for the info. How about a couple pics of the exterior and a couple of the inside. Email or post would be great.

The 20' box with 51" V nose is bigger (if there is such a thing) than I need to fit the 911 and misc stuff.
I initially had planned on a 16' or 18' with 51" V nose, but went with the 20' since I could always fall back on the Excursion if need be. The 16' with 51" V is the same size as an open car trailer, which is no problem at all with a Cayenne.
