Great info Brett. Dealer said he totally understands for peace of mind and buying across the country. I asked him to send pics and your note above for any vertical lines on the cylinder walls for all cylinders. Stay tuned...
Going to do some research on the PCCB replacement costs.
Service lead says they are unable to get the camera in to take pictures of the cylinder walls but that there was no scoring when they checked today. Dealer said he would prepare a service document noting work done to the vehicle when they received it, PCCB pads, oil change, condition of engine during check, condition of rotors.
Sigh. Third party PPI is still an option. Dealer seems to be doing all he can to help but short of sending the car to a P Dealer it may be a gamble regardless.
lol I would not trust their “service lead” he’s from like Kyrgyzstan and I don’t think he’s got any Porsche certifications on his wall. Regardless I think the motor sounds fine and again it’s not from a cold climate. It’s sweet the issue here is simply obvious deferred maintenance and I do not like that they changed the pads on those brakes. I just don’t trust that they did it.
I did post right behind you in that thread responding to Davebrossi when he listed his car for sale. Did see your comment about backing off, but it was so long ago I didn't remember.

OP, looking at the vehicle pics, if you decide to proceed, I think I have a complete set of OEM Cayenne lug bolts including the locks and key that aren't rusty like those in the pics I'll make a deal on. Removed from a 35k mile FL Cayenne Turbo S.
Sounds a little noisy to me but I don't know these motors well. My mechanic listened and mentioned possible worn timing chains?
Did you listen to the one I posted above with piston slap, and compared?
The GTS is in the best color, and you can probably find a local reenlister to look at it in person. These cars sure are taking long to sell, I'd negotiate $$ on this one.

Honestly the Nordic Gold engine sounds similar to the failed engine to me but that's just my initial take.
I agree, the Black GTS color is greatly preferred by me. Loved the idea of getting a nice Turbo (especially as this was a $157K build) but starting to think a GTS with PDCC, NA revving may be just as fun as a DD.
EDIT: My mechanic just called and told me to pass on the Nordic Gold. His retired Porsche certified mechanic listened and said it's a no go.
