Well i bought my new cayenne S few weeks ago. I was very dissapointed but had to part from the bi-xenon head lights to get all my other options. Well right when i got the car home, I notticed there was some type of moisture or fog in the headlamps! It is less during the day however, at night when the lights are turned on it get a lot more.

I have called my dealer, they said that theres no permanent fix for the problem yet and they have this one thing that is inserted for treated into the headlights that removes the moisture, however he did mention that this does not permanently remove all the moisture is it may come back. He said I would have to bring it back every few months or so to keep it out.

I have also heard from another source that the headlights should be completely replaced by Porsche as it is under warantee. I dotn know what to do, can they replace the entire headlamp fixtures? will they? What should i do?

i had the dessicant bags put in my bi-xenons about a month ago, no moisture since then. Before that it was perpetual.

Mine had the dreaded fog but load and behold a miracle gone all away after 4k miles of driving. No condensation nemore. You may want to sit it out-mite go away. But did have malfunctioining module running the xenons which was replaced under warranty. Regards. Mike

Take the bags out, put in the over on 350 for 30 minute (turning regularly) replace. Done

You may opt for NOT DOING ANYTHING.
Fog effect will GO AWAY on it's own, after 1-1.5 mo (2K miles) of regular normal/spirited car driving.

Car gets warm (engine, catalitics ... etc.) after spirited driving and will completely eliminate fog effect in headlights from comming back after 1.5 mo by "slowly cooking" everything inside the headlights.

Try it, you'll see it helpfull,
car get's better with time, ...like ?...
let the car COMPLETE brakein period.

I had the same problem in my 2004 Cayenne S with Xenons. Porsche replaced the dessicants and the heaters and this seems to have solved the problem.

My guess is that the dessicant bags get overloaded with moisture on the ships coming over. If you're in Seattle it may take a lot longer than normal to disappear.

I wonder what Mike would say to a fortune teller who last year said he would be baking dessicant bags in his oven.

My bride would throw me out. I'm gloating (sorry...) I live in a relatively low humidity area and haven't had the problem.

Any customer with this problem will be VERY dissatisfied, every time the head lamps are examined. It is very curious that PCNA has not arrived at a solution that eliminates this problem prior to sending the vehicle to the dealership.

Is the port preparation process limited to driving these things off the boat?

This problem and its solution are not a mystery. What is a mystery is why PCNA has not fixed this problem.
