My experiences, with another manufacturer, has led me to conclude that success in vehicle buyback require patience, in ample amounts, along with the ability to identify and articulate defects that affect safety or value of the vehicle.
Also, starting the repair attempts at a very low odometer reading is important. If buyback occurs, then the vehicle purchase price is prorated, from the mileage at the intial repair attempt, with a 100K mile vehicle lifetime.
The manufacturer will be granted lots and lots of attempts to resolve the problem.

Turbo has been in shop for 30 business days as of today. I could have sent letter at 15 days but waited as a sign of my good faith.
Aside from a number of smaller items, my greatest complaints are dangerous delay in response after pushing gas pedal and a strange thunk in the steering when making a right-hand turn.
First repair attempt was with under 2,000 miles...I bought it with over 500. Vehicle has less than 5,500 miles on it now.
Dealer admits items are not normal and do not appear on other Cayennes on the lot. Porsche Technical was contacted - they have no idea either.
Sent letter to protect my rights but I really have no compaints with process to date. Dealer has been awesome. I am not looking for a way out...just want some additional help in resolving situation. I have no desire to follow Lemon Law procedures unless I have no other option. Requested, as per MA law, final fix or offer by 7th business day from today.
New models always have issues - I have no problem with that. I will judge Porsche on how they correct the situation, not on the fact that it occured. There was a fellow at BenzWorld who was refunded the purchase price of his ML by Mercedes after two years of ownership. He kept meticulous repair records, complied statistics, drafted letter after letter, posted threads such as this one and tabulated views and replies, sought interviews with the media, etc. In short, he became such a thorn in MB's side that he had to be dealt with.
Others have paid attorneys to do the legwork for them. Class action status is hard to come by, but if you get it, you're home free. What's working against you is the relative infancy of the Cayenne model as opposed to the ML, which was introduced in '98.
I think you're best chance is to have the dealer give you another Turbo in an even trade. Do you think they would consider that?

I am open to any reasonable scenario proposed by PCNA including a trade, a discount on a future Porsche, satisfactory repair, etc. My main concern is that I am driving a safe vehicle when I transport my children. I am a long-time Porsche owner and will continue to be in the future...it is in everyone's best interest to resolve this ammicably and I have every confidence that it will happen that way.

Yeah.. I understand what you mean by driving your family safely.. I certanly wouldn´t take mine in a car which isn´t safe :S.. Hope all turns out well, either you keep the C-Turbo or you get your money back

Wow - talk about excellent customer service. My salesguy (Alfie from Ira Porsche) just called to check up on me - he is currently in the Virgin Islands awaiting his wedding on Saturday.

That is interesting about the thunk when making a right turn. I just brought my pepper in and reported the same issue. Has anyone else had this come up? My dealer said that they couldn't replicate the issue and I didn't have time to verify if it is still happening. Basically when you turn the wheel hard right and are going slow (i.e. making a u-turn) it makes a pop sound. I had this same noise on my X5 and it was a known issue with the control arm. Anyone else?

Mine will make the noise when the sterring wheel is turned about 3/4 (270 degrees) to the right. The head Porsche Tech verified the noise and also verified that is was not normal. He did this by testing the other Cayennes on the lot. He even called it in to the Porsche Tech line and they had no answers.
It has been in the shop for 19 calendar days (15 business days) this time - no updates from the service department at the dealer (aside from the saleman who calls from his wedding/vacation), no calls from Porsche in response to the Lemon Letter they received early this week and no response yet from Porsche Customer Committment whom I called 2 days ago to let them know about the letter and the 30+ business days in the shop.
It has been in the shop for 19 calendar days (15 business days) this time - no updates from the service department at the dealer (aside from the saleman who calls from his wedding/vacation), no calls from Porsche in response to the Lemon Letter they received early this week and no response yet from Porsche Customer Committment whom I called 2 days ago to let them know about the letter and the 30+ business days in the shop.

Update: Vehicle was not repaired within 7 business days in April (as per final repair attempt under MA. Lemon Law). I took it back with the verbal understanding that additional problems would involve discussions as to the fate of the vehicle. Steering clunk worsened and vehicle back in shop in late June for another week. Asked General Manager to speak to Porsche Rep. The Rep. left message on my machine 10 days later and told me to contact service department at dealer with any future questions. I emailed him back through dealer on 7/1 (as he won't give me his direct number or his email) and hoped for a response to discuss matter further. No response in 2 weeks. Hired attorney who sent letter to PCNA in Atlanta - awaiting response. Vehicle in service for 48 business days in under 10 months...I have driven it less than 5,800 miles.
I love the vehicle and I love Ira Porsche but PCNA is proving to be somewhat customer unfriendly.
