Transmission short shifting
Hey Guys,
I have a Cayenne TT 04 with 102,000kms. I have been through the laundry list for this car already now my latest issue is
My trans is shifting short while driving like changing up gears prematurely. This started happening after I cleaned and oiled the K&N filters. (yes I know stock air filters are the go, the car came like this)
-Mechanic did a trans service first, then picked up fault code on throttle body
-I cleaned the MAF sensors with appropriate cleaner
-I cleaned the the throttle body also with appropriate cleaner
-disconnected battery to reset computer
STILL have the same issue
Mechanic is suggesting replacing the throttle body (mine looks like new).
Any other suggestions ??

I would bet this has more to do with the Mechanic's Trans service than anything to do with the intake.
My 957 upshifts prematurely as well. I frequently have to press the thumb button to move it down a gear to keep the RPMs above 2,000 and not lug the more, even in Sport mode (turning off PSM resolves it). It's possible it's now shifting the way it was designed and it wasn't before.

The guys are right. Clean slate for the transmission control. The Tip has something like 250 maps available. Try a more aggressive throttle application for first 15 kph or so, for a few drives and see what adaptation happens. If the computer expects you to drive with a more aggressive throttle input, that may help you.

Well, you can smoke the system and check for leaks easily at home. You can try a replacement throttle body, but smoke test first, before throwing more parts at it. I bet a tb failure is very rare.
